Do yourself a favor and get a custom cover from a local canvas shop so the cover actually fits tight and sheds water and not collect it.

You're gonna need the straps, sister. First time it rains that thing will pull right off from the weight of the water. I had to make a set of ribs to go under mine to keep it from collecting 150 gallons of water on the floor of the boat.

I appreciate the info. I ordered mine yesterday. I tried your link, but it was a no go on the 5%. The impression you gave me is that the cover is pretty good and not junk. I wish National would have made a video showing it's water and sun resistance after a year out in the sun. Instead they made a video with some woman telling me that they save so much gas while trailering their boat that they can afford to go on dates again. WTF? I was going to buy one from Jettribe but they only offered a 6 month warranty and suggested I buy a cover to protect their cover if being stored out doors. again I have to ask WTF? I was hoping to get a 5 year run out of my new cover, time will tell. It looks like you get to have lots of fun at beaches and in the water. I'm so jealous! Looks like this weekend my wife and I will have to settle with an inflatable pool and bottle of wine. Perhaps I will turn the sprinkler on also if I'm really wanting to go all out crazy.

+Wipsplash You have to watch out on Amazon too. I actually do like the cover, it's still in use to this day. I even brought it to the Keys with me this week. It's not a custom cover, but for the price it's great. Stays on the trailer 99% of time with just the elastic.

Not going to be doing that but we still love the cover. It's rain/water proof. FYI, covers do not prevent puddling, putting it on properly and putting poles and such underneath so that there are no low spots prevent puddling.

the straps should help prevent the boat cover from collapsing under weight of accumulated rainwater on top of the cover surface.
I was wondering if the boat cover has a soft inner surface to protect the boat from abrasion from the cover rubbing on the boat hull during windy conditions.

Looks like a well engineered boat cover! I am curious how long the coasting last on them.
Instead of messing with the straps I use single hook bungee cords (permanently attached) to the bottom of the trailer that attach to a bungee loop on the cover loops. But the strap design is still pretty good lol

You can bungee cord mod any boat cover, but the straps are pretty much just as good.

@Darcizzle Offshore Not really. You need lots of tension so the water will roll off. The way you put it on, even with supports to prop it up, will take on a bunch of water.

Great review Darci! Please don't laugh, but one thing I do, this is the redneck in me. I use milk jugs full of sand, bungee cords, and hook the bungee cords where the straps go. It is great for when you are in a hurry to get on the water, which is all of the time! I also painted the jugs to match the cover. (my OCD kicked in)
