When i had a Spotted raphael Cat and a BGKF they both would house together in my 15G tank. When I got my 55G tank and moved them in there they found separate homes but would still share space now and them. They are complimentary hunters and would feed at dusk together looking for various worms, brozen foods, and guppy/endler culls. The cat would feel the foods out and the BGKF would try and stun them, especially the smaller feeder culled fish, with its electric field and then both would feed.

Ctenapoma are antabantids and do need to gulp surface air so are related to gouramis though they originate in Western central Africa.
