Awesome! F$%# the negative remarks. How far did you get dragged out from shore & I guess I have to ask the million dollar question why? I mean once you realized it was a shark and you also realized it was going to be impossible to get it in your boat, why let it drag you out farther?

I laugh at this. You do realize that many sharks, particularly hammerheads, love to feast on stingrays. 5 inch stingray barb doesnt hurt nearly as much as  1in- hook barb. Not to mention the anatomy of sharks is completely different, and based on the placement of nuerons and the ability to transfer electrical signals through its nervous system, as well as what kind of chemicals those signals cause to be released, and a lot of other processes that would take a long time to explain, we actually could get pretty close. Not sure why we would want to though.

Starting youtube fights for fun is what is truly barbaric. You obviously do not know much about the art of fishing, or the anatomy of most fish. Fisherman either feed YOU or feed the fish they let go.  You have not even given a basis for your claim. You obviously just want to fight, and do not want to better mankind, barbarian.

Sweet, at least you saw your sea monster. My Dad and I were once towed around the San Francisco harbor by something so strong it bent the rod around the bow of our boat and would not budge! +TeamRebel FishingTV Great video. Wish you would have let us seen more of it. I hope you'll answer some questions I have regarding hammerheads since I've always been intrigued by them. You said that the hammerheads often follow your boats...why do you think this species of shark does that? Will other species of shark do that as well? Did you feel at all threatened or nervous to any degree about the second hammerhead trailing you? Any thoughts on why the second one was trailing you? I appreciate your time in answering these. For some reason...hammers have always gotten the best of my curiosity and appreciation. Thanks much.

Hey Adam, with all the attention, I hope you and your group get a documentary on NatGeo or something similar. Maybe an ad contract for you with GoPro, who knows.  Looks like you're getting close to 100 views per hour. Cheers

+Hudson Ensz Hooking the shark is nothing? Invading their waters for sport is nothing? Having the shark tow him for an alleged 12 miles is nothing?

Let's turn the tables. How about I stick a large hook in your mouth and you drag me around for miles and miles?  Sound like "fun"?

It's the disrespect (and incredible ignorance) that people have to other creatures that I disparage (and the stupidity of people who think this is "fun").  Fun for who?

If you are unaware of the plight of the world's sharks - do some research. They're in severe decline worldwide. Excaberating this is "sport fisherman" like this idiot who thought it would be "fun" and who wants his 15 minutes of fame.

There is nothing to be proud of in this videa, just another stupid jerk trashing the environment and playing god with the planet's creatures.

Nice vid, Adam! Looks like you were in a Hobie? How long of a leader? Steel? Bait? Sorry for all the questions - I'm an inland yak fisherman who would love to experience that type of near shore saltwater fishing sometime.

I keep very long leaders on my king fish rig so I don't have to keep changing them so it was about 30-40ft

VERY cruel to fish. Many times a fish cannot feed after a line is cut or a hook is removed because it damages part of the inside of their mouths that aids in swallowing, so they starve to death. Would you like a big hook in your mouth? Whether you believe it or not, he is suffering the entire you took this video, and if his mouth is damaged so he cannot feed, he will be dead, but rest assured it will take several slow weeks for him to do so. Would have rather seen you fall off the kayak and get bitten. CRUEL.

I just have to say I did not tell the hammer to bite nor did I target it... so your point just makes no sense to me. Trying to get the hook out of its mouth is laughable in this situation I did the best I could to release the shark safely and not be hurt in the process. In addition, the hook was quite small, as I was fishing for Kings not Hammerheads and it will release out of the mouth in a reasonably short amount of time without damaging the fish's mouth. I am an experienced angler and always practice CPR - catch, photograph, release. So please before you continue writing these sorts of things on people's videos understand the situation first. Thank You.

Boynton Beach, Fl. The 4 poles are all rigged for different situations. It is hard to change rigs while on the kayak. Easier to do it before hand and bring all the different poles and reels.

I see that you had a Hobie with Pedals and a rudder so you could steer without getting swamped.  I wonder if the shark even knew it was hooked and his buddy is trailing you.  I think at that point, I'd cut my line and stick with a Spinner shark.  If you want more shark action, go to Boca Grande for Tiger Sharks.
