125 Gallon Reef Tank Cleaning Day

A much overdue update on the reef tank. Come join me in the cleaning of the tank. Tools: Turkey Baster, Brush and Razor Blade. Glass is so easy to deal with. I only wish I had my water storage system closer so water changes could be done easier. How do you clean your tank? Post comments https://www.facebook.com/DeeFromBrooklynAquatics?ref=bookmarks

Beautiful tank. I am a rookie so still making some rookie mistakes here and there (part of the fun though is learning!) Have a blow up of Aptasia. Your cleaning advice is great! Aptasia slowly getting under control! Thanks for sharing!

+James Gillespie you can try to shoot clean it but my experience shows those little buggers can retreat into the rock and pop out elsewhere

Thanks for the advice. No coral to worry about yet. I hate to kill the live rock. But I think I will have to do it.

If you're losing the aiptasia battle and there's no coral attached to the affected rock I recommend dipping the rock in a bath of white vinegar for about 10 minutes then scrub it with a brush. wear safety glass because the smell of those things is horrible for you. if your can do it outside it's better. that will absolutely kill everything and restore the rock to a clean state. Be sure to rinse well in freshwater before putting it back in your tank.
Thanks for watching.

The easier you make the cleaning process in your tank the more likely you are to clean it. ..
