ALLEN WILLIAMS It's quite a simple soldering job. You just cut and strip the wire going to the screw and solder it to the same spot as the red wire. Then your boat will turn on when you plug in the battery. But keep in mind, mine did overheat and explode, so you should take some measures to encourage cooling of the electronics.

Mine melted the receiver on the 2nd run which makes it the perfect time for brushless upgrade

I got mine off of ebay for a penny but shipping was 17.98. Must say I am impressed. When and if it fries I will put the electronics from a team associated rc 18mt in it>

Out of the box it's set up to turn on when placed in water. I bypassed that with a simple soldering job.

Sorry, I really need to make an update video. But turns out this is a cheap boat. The whole thing ended up smoking on me, failed completely. If I were you, I'd try replacing the motor. I'm actually going to replace all the electronics in my boat for something of better quality.

Me and nd my brother were driving this and the motor got hot and smokey. So then ee took it out and let it cool but now it only goes in reverse help please?

Mine is just "spinning" in the water, like the prop dont get traction. Takes a few tryes to get it in plane. Must take the throttle up slowly to get it in plane...? or else it just spins (in lack of better words) any suggestions?

I noticed that too in my own boat. My guess is that it's the brass tube that holds the drive shaft. It's not sealed because the shaft needs to spin in it, that's just the way it's built. Having a little bit of water in the boat is fine, the ESC/Receiver is in a well sealed waterproof box.

just got the boat for christmas... its fun but i got some water inside boat. Could it be leaky cover or/and leaking around where boat splits apart from top and bottom?

Thinking of buying a second one one for my son. Will the two RF signals interfere when driving? Anyway to isolate or change the RF channels?

Purchased From Amazon. Great price, long ship time (3 weeks), directions in Chinese, had to move wires off motor so they won't burn, remote antenna broke when retracting. Was able to fix antenna, also screws in and easy to replace. Boat antenna fed thru tube and you need to bend flex antenna wire and place cap on top, this gives it a snug fit, although I will probably glue base and top to hold in place. Thanks for posting this video, I would have never figured out how to activate boat!

Before I say anything else, be sure you keep the top cover off while storing it. (I'll explain further in my follow-up video.) As for the battery and charger, check out your Local Hobby Shop first. I'd say anything meant for a mini(1/18th scale) car/truck/helicopter etc. I recommend you look on hobbyking(dot)com for a charger definitely, they have good batteries too and have the best prices you can find, but a hobby shop has a better chance of better quality.
