What sails do you most often use downwind? And do you have full battens in your Mainsail? Do you like them? Please leave your comments to these below..it really helps us!

Some people put baggywrinkle on the stays where the battens make contact.

Terrific video, great insight into when and where to navigate tough weather systems..... astronauts should take six months sailing in these conditions to train for the voyages of the "ultimate seas", cheers

I just bought some chain at Maggi, USA and to my surprise saw a drum labelled Brickhouse. Man, I wish I would have been prepared. I could only grab a couple of Misc things from my truck tool box to add to the drum. Its so cool to communicate and ship stuff that far. First time buying Italian chain so I was reassured if you bought it, then my research was on the mark and I would be ok with my purchase. Preston was great to deal with and very helpfull. Looking forward to yall opening up that drum.

Small world :) Thanks in advance for whatever you popped in there!
Yes...we just could not find chain in SE Asia before we left last year that was of the quality that is tough enough for our demands. Our old, old chain is SSOO at the end of its life. In this very video, you saw the anchorage just before it got dark and started to get VERY bumpy...dangerously bumpy, considering this old chain we have. That’s when we decided we would go NO further with the current chain, and would wait for a drum to be sent to Richards Bay in South Africa before anchoring anywhere again. We have been in contact with Maggi Chain USA for more than a year, and it was time to do it! I can’t tell you how much research I did, and , yes...I think you and we have made a very good decision with Maggi! (Rebecca)

+Patrick Childress Sailing I'll try to find it : ] I was more wondering what possessed you to buy it and start sailing? As opposed to say - buying a house 15 feet from your neighbors and working a soul crushing corporate job.

Thanks...this is Rebecca... How did we get the name...or the boat? If you mean the name...there are 3 versions...probably worthy of a video ;) If you mean the boat...how did we get it...that’s in another video...I think it was the the video about “flares on a sailboat”...

Hi Patrick, in relation to the comment on your last video 'grounding thru hulls' I remembered a video on drake paragon YT channel He interviewed experienced sailors and they touched on this subject, when I saw it I remembered you asking for more info, not sure if you got it but this may help. I timestamped it so you just have to press play https://youtu.be/9iKko8PQeks also the whole video is good, hope it helps :) ok the time stamp did not work but the part in question starts at 10,30.
