Unfortunately there was not much wind throughout Indonesia, so we had to use the engine... ALOT. The seals on the C-Drive need to be replaced after every 800 Engine hours, and we didn't budget for the light winds in Indonesia. So we had to get Aquarius out of the water in a hurry, and the only place we could find was Asian Fast Marine. Asian Fast Marine is located 20 miles South of Singapore, on the Indonesian Island of Batam. This was the fasted haul out and return we ever had, 23:30 hours! WOW. If you need to haul out in Indonesia, Asian Fast Marine will probably be your Best CHOICE. The only problem is that only their employees are required to all the work on you boat. Instead of grinding the sleeve and fitting oversize seals get a Speedi Sleeve they are a thin stainless steel sleeve that goes over the worn sealing surface and provides a smooth seal face without machining any bearing or seal supplier should be able to get one for you, will be cheaper than machining and keep your parts standard

Another interesting one. I've used Teflon tape to build up the area worn down by the seals and had good results. Just an fyi that combined with $3.50 will get you a cup of coffee.

".....their workers have skills" Having a "Westerner" as General Manager supervising (the guy with the white helmet I suppose?) does ease my (I admit) political incorrect apprehension somewhat in these areas of the world. An acquaintance of mine worked as an aircraft maintenance engineer for Garuda a couple of years.
He strictly forbade his family to ever fly with them.

By the way: I noticed that the 2 hand on initiative guys (the one with the glasses and the second with the white shirt) were both Chinese. Members of an ethnic minority that always bears the brunt when things turn rather sour in Indonesia.

I've been reading descriptions on how to do this on the forum for years (including the discussions about which way the seals should go) and it never made much sense to me until this video. Will help greatly when I get mine! Thanks!
