Would you recommend this board in Black Dart?

Could you recommend any tweaks to give the board the board a bit more durability such as S glass etc? Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply Ashlon. Was curious if Black Dart could be ridden in bigger surf like say Helium from Fire Wire supposedly can.

Hey Peter, In all honesty, the Round Up is a step up meant for powerful surf, and you would likely prefer the smooth ride of PU/Poly over the lightweight, somewhat chattery EPS used in Black Dart. If you are getting a Round Up for waves head high to slightly overhead on more open faces a Black Dart would be fun but even then, that's not the wave range this board is designed for. All the best, Ashlon

Hello! would a 6'6 of this model be good for a 175 lb and 5'11 in height? i'll use it for 8+ ft powerfull waves

Hey Vicente, Thanks for writing in. What other boards are in your quiver? What is your skill level? and where do you surf? The answers to these questions will help me recommend the right board for you.

At the moment my every day board is a quiver killer (stock 6'5). Got a trip coming up to the mentawai's, I'm not a charger just foot or two over head waves. Would this board be a good board to couple with the quiver killer or would you suggest another Lost board?

6'9 would be a good call. We have a good selection of Round Up's you can shop here: http://www.realwatersports.com/surfing/surfboards/lost/round-up

Hey Craig, the Round Up makes a great step up from the Quiver Killer. Judging by the volume of your Quiver Killer we recommend a 6'9 Round Up. Just to make sure, how much do you weigh?

Thanks for the review.

Thinking of getting the Round up or the pyzel Ghost. A video review of the Ghost would be awesome.
any suggestions ???

REAL Watersports - 7 years ago
Hey Alex, Thanks for writing in. The Round Up features a more full tail and higher rocker. This makes the Round Up an easier board to turn, but it does not paddle as well, and does not carry as much speed as the Ghost. If you are looking for a board for good surf, want to ride more in the pocket, and like to make turns when the wave opens up the Round Up is a good call. The Ghost is better suited for all out speed, getting in early, and navigating steep barrelling surf with straight line speed and confidence. Hope this helps - Ashlon Durham

Thanks for the review!

Im from Cádiz (south spain) and im between low and mid level surf.

I wan to to change my board, this looks amazing, but i don´t know if
this board is only for mid-high waves and for tube riding, waves that we
haven´t here.

Is this board good for me and the waves i have here? im 1,77 and 70kg so
i was looking the 6,2

Maybe another model of lost?

Rikus, All of the Lost boards are hand shaped, and the dimensions can vary from stock. These are both great boards that will cover you in a massive range, Hope you catch some great waves soon!
Rikus1978
Rikus1978 - 7 years ago
I will buy the models you suggest me.

As i said im 1,77 and 71kg so i think:

6,0 for the Baby Buggy and a 6,3 for Round UP

I just notice that the specs of the boards of your web are a bit lower than the Lost site

Thanks a lot for your help

Hey Rikus, If you are looking for a board that surfs closer to a performance short board (radical turns top to bottom, and more speed out of turns) go with the Baby Buggy, If you want more swooping carves and a board that naturally generates speed without pumping then go with the V3 as it's more of a hybrid shape. The Round Up makes a great step up, to help you get in early and battle current on the big days I would size up to a 6'4 Round Up.

Check out this Quiver

Sorry for asking too much, a friend tell me to buy the V3 squash, so for
waves till 1,5 meters, definetely the V3 Squash or Baby Buggy 6,1?

My second board will be a Round Up for waves 1,5 to 3 meters maximum, what size should i buy?

Thanks a lot!
REAL Watersports
REAL Watersports - 7 years ago
Hey Rikus, The extra width helps the Baby Buggy perform well in weaker surf. At your weight the 6'2 is a big board that will be hard to control in steep waves. It will have good paddle power but for surfing performance I would drop down to a 6'1, this will be narrower and it will sit deeper into wave faces for superior control. Check this one out http://www.realwatersports.com/lost-baby-buggy-round-pu-poly-6-1

I´m going to Maldives in may, the Bay Buggy is to wide?

I´m 1,77 and 70kg so i was looking the 6,2

Hey Ricus, the Round Up is shaped to perform best in bigger waves, or atl east round waves that pack a lot of power. There are surfers who can make it work in small surf but really if you are mostly surfing small to mid size waves you should look into a shape with lower rocker, and a little more volume like the Lost Baby Buggy. Check it out here: http://www.realwatersports.com/surfing/surfboards/lost/baby-buggy-round

Hey, you've done reviews on both the Slayer and the Round Up so I was interested in which you'd recommend for a stepup in the Mentawais. They look similar but wanted to get your opinion on which works better, especially for round waves. Can you turn the Slayer like the Roundup? It's looks a bit flatter out the back.

Also, it looks like The Slayer is ridden pretty short for a stepup. Is that the same with Roundup? My typical stepup is 6'5 @33L and that is what's offered at 6'2. Any issues with shorter length? I didn't feel like length was a big issue when in Ments before. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Have the same question. Deciding between the lost round up, rusty slayer and super pigdog. Very similar outlines but like the fuller nose on slayer so hope that is the go for Indo.

Hey!
I have a driver 6'1 - 31.1L that is my everyday surfboard and I'm looking for this board as a step up.
My weight is 173lb and I'm 6'1 tall. I heard that as a step pup I should buy this board 2-4 inches bigger.
But as a 6'3 this board will have more than 33.5L which is a lot for me...is it possible to make it customized as a 6'3 but having anything around 32.5L without loosing the board caractreistic? or can I use this step board only 1 inch bigger than my everyday board.
Tks a lot
REAL Watersports
REAL Watersports - 8 years ago
+Marcello Quarta thanks for your question. You're going to want more floatation in your step-up board, so you should focus on getting the correct volume measurement for your weight and skill level. In addition to having a longer rail line and a tail shape with more "hold", step-ups pack more volume to give you the paddle power you need to catch bigger, faster moving waves.
If your "daily driver" is 31.1L, and you are 173lbs, you should be looking for something 34-35L volume as your step-up. You could go with a 6'3" Round Up, or for something that we have ready to ship today check out this 6'3" Short Cut (http://www.realwatersports.com/pyzel-shortcut-pu-poly-6-3) or a 6'3" or 6'4" Rusty Slayer(http://www.realwatersports.com/surfing/surfboards/rusty/slayer) , any of those boards will be PERFECT for what you need.
Don't under-size your step-up in the volume department, you'll be much happier with the proper volume! Hope this helps! -Chris Stellato +real watersports

+fishskulls76 - I've seen Trip tearing the bag out of some sessions in good surf on his Round Up. While the Rock Up is more tuned for the bigger end of the wave spectrum, the Round Up has versatility in both big surf and on your average-to-good days too. Hope this helps! -Chris Stellato +realwatersports

Hey Trip, board looks and sounds good for a step up, just out of curiosity how does it go in solid head high conditions?
