Only the beginning,you need to do water changes twice a week for the next four weeks.After that, everything stabilizes.They are not all the same, we should follow manufacturer's instructions.On the packaging says :'Complete active substrate for aquarium. Softens water (reduces pH and KH) From natural soil extracts".

Thanks.!! I have an old video about sump,but now it's changed a bit because of this setup... You can see how it works in that old video, the only thing I added is another chamber and more biological filtration.

How do you clean a tank like this ? In my tank I always move the decorations and plants around to get any food or poop out so i can suck it up, But with this id be afraid to move anything haha.

Highland Bilby you don't have to move anyhting, just clean the filter, refresh 30-50% of the water every week, clean the glass and let nature do its magic.

Make sure you're documenting your process with diatoms like you did with your set up. You could make a really helpful video showcasing your dilemma and how you solved it/what problems presented themselves.
