How many bags of ADA aquasoil 9L do you used in this 20G tank?
Gregory Marrero

Old comment but you would only need around one 9 liter bag if you aren't planning to have any crazy slopes. I'd recommend marified controsoil instead of ada amazonia because controsoil comes in a 10 liter bag for the same price or cheaper.

I wouldn't call it a timelapse. It's regular footage, just around 3x speed. Timelapse should have much lower frame rate, lower than 2 frames per minute. Just saying.

A fish tank is a tank with feesh in it my friend.  However an aquascape is like landscaping.  You try to design love ferns in a way like no other love fern design.  You can use live plants, driftwood, and rocks to form a powerful majestic scape. Then you add fish to the aquascaped tank as it's lovely graceful inhabitants. Some say it's artistic and some just say it's a fish tank ;) But to each his own I suppose...Peace Chavez

I went for the full ADA (Aqua Design Amano)... CRAZY PRICES!!

ADA Cube Garden 30W (30x18x24 or 3.5 gallons) - 75$
ADA Aquasky 301 (lights) - 200$
ADA CO2 Advanced System - 300$
ADA Pollen Glass Mini (CO2) -124$
ADA Drop Checker - 50$ (this item is being shipped as we speak)

I agree with you and actually moved it all down to the lower driftwood as it did look out of place. And yeah I filled the tank up too quickly as I was in a rush :/ or else I woulda filled it really slow and I could have prevented some of that cloudiness, but that cleared after a few hours. Tanks for watching :)

I did rush the glosso as I should of split them all up individually, but I didn't have any experience with this high light plant and that was also a problem I ran into as eventually I replaced with dwarf sag. I upgraded to a T5 HO fixture and soon I am gunna do a rescape with dwarf baby tears along the foreground.

The tank looks good.but the filling with water up was very sloppy. But apart from that you know your aquascapping. The anubias if you want to keep them I suggest tie them to the base of the wood to soften the transition from the substrate to the wood. But on the top of the wood like you have it just looks out of place.

Overall, the scape is good, but the Glossostigma elatinoides should be more dense. (I would assume after a few more weeks, it got the carpet look), and also, the space under the driftwood and the anubias on the top throw the scape a bit out of balance. Otherwise, excellent work!

I don't know why many people don't do time-lapses of their scapes... It not only is fun to do, but they can look back on it and review their progress, along with the fun process of editing it. It will also benefit others for when they want to learn some scaping techniques.

The plants really filter the water themselves. It is crazy, but planted tanks don't require much work cuz of this reason. Plants need good soil, light, and proper CO2 supply to grow however. Can't forget that and plants will continue to keep your water looking clear and clean if you supply them with what they need to thrive. Love the Greens!

Next time you have to fill a tank [big water change, f'instance]. put a cereal bowl with some gravel in it down where the fill water hits. The dispersal will be much easier on the plantings that way.

Attaching anubias to the wood is done with fishing line or any kind of string really. Just tie the roots to the wood and after a few days the roots will start to wrap themselves around the objects you place it on. Then you can remove the string or leave it on. Best of Luck!

Hi, I'm new to aquascaping and I have very little experience at making a tank look good per say, so would you mind sharing how you attached the plant (anubias, right?) to the wood?

there are chemicals if you want to get, within seconds the chemicals cause attraction of small particles they stick together and then get caught by the filter or sink to the bottom.

You soak the wood for a couple of weeks which will get the majority of the tannin acids out. After that water changes.

Nice looking setup. Grats on your first AS. I'd like to make two suggestions which may make your life easier. I always wash my gravel before it gets anywhere near a tank. I half fill a bucket then run a hose until its clear. Secondly I've found it's better to have your filter inlet as close to the substrate as possible. The detritus tends to circulate at the bottom and the more that gets picked up the less you have to vac from the gravel. HTH
