Love the neon's and have always wanted them but I've been told they die very easy. And don't do so good with water change's.

Its not overcrowded my five gallon is overcrowded, I have ten rasboras they are about the size of the neon's. I'm upgrading to a ten gallon in a few week's, but your tank is fine and looks great,not overcrowded at all I promise. And your fish look very happy so don't worry about what others say, you did a really good job of not overstocking unlike myself LOL

You could if you had a 5 gallon, unfortunately the bioload is to great in a 2.5, it may lead to ammonia/nitrite poising in the long run

googled some stories, seems pretty common that bettas attack neon tetras :( for a while i only heard they were aggressive towards other bettas.

+Mr Dordde mine just killed two Neons out of 7 in my 10 gallon.. Ive kept the same Betta with cherry shrimp no problem...lol. had another Betta get harassed by ghost shrimp at feeding.. All depends on Betta/aquarium I think

Bettas have trouble living with other bettas, not really with other species.

This is a 2,5 gallon tank. If you are not sure the size check the back rim on the top it should say how much gallons

the tetras are much faster than bettas. and as a team, they could group up and nip at the betta's fin

Sorry to hear they died. Next time have them in a 10 gallon. Also Tetras need to be in schools of 6 minimum. I have 1 betta and 8 neon Tetras in a 10 gallon.
