I have shrimps too!! But no 30, i have only 6 : 1 blue dream (neocaridina davidi), next one is same, 1 crystal red (caridina cf. cantonensis), blue jelly (neocaridina davidi), orange shrimp (caridina thambipillali) and last one i don't know what species it is because i bought 2 shrimps on the internet but they gived me 3 shrimps, the third shrimp is baby (it has only 2 milimetres) and it is translucent. It can be a shrimp amano (caridina japonica).
These are my shrimps.

OMG, what happened to your tank??? Why isn't it filled up? Where are the plants? Why is the water so dirty??
Looks like you didn't look after it for at least 2-3 months...!
Maybe you should think about caring about the pets that you already have instead of buying new "cool" once.......!

You're not supposed to mix shrimp colors. They end up breeding together and making brown/black or faded colors. The only way the shrimps have such strong colors is through generations of selective breeding and inbreeding.

I found a. Way to get a half moon betta from non experienced pet stores like pet smart and petco you switch the top of a half moon and a crown tail and cover the cup while they scan it so you get a half moon for 3-5 dollars instead of 15

If you are added all them in the same tank you are going to have a bunch of brown shrimp. You should keep them Separated Or they're gonna turn all muddy .and get the fish out of the tank .you will be happy them .I keep shrimp only tanks so I keep the blood true .I have tried what you are doing and it was a big mess I had brown shrimp and my so called shrimp safe fish 8 most of the baby's .so I keep everything in their own tank..I hope this helps I been in the hobby for over 38 years..and still love it

Love the shrimp, you probly no but if you want to breed them it's best to put them in a smaller tank, as you'll see the males running like mad men when it's time to breed. Good luck with breeding them, nothing better than seeing your female scatter the babies for the first time, just watch those betta's they enjoy a shrimpy snack.

I hope your shrimp and babies can survive with your 9 bettas. Depending on their level of aggressiveness bettas may/ may not pick on them. It took me a long time to find the right betta for my community/ shrimp tank. He's a very mellow guy that pretty much keeps to himself. Good luck, I'm rooting for you☺

I have so many Cherry Shrimp now it's crazy but I think the strain in my tank has changed. They are so dark red and beautiful that I think they may be what is now called Bloody Mary shrimp. The real reason why I am writing this is because of the knife you used to open the box. Is that a Wusthof Boning Knife you are using as a box cutter?

I bought some Tangerine Tiger shrimp maybe 2 months ago from Flip Aquatics, and man, they started breeding about 1 month ago, and i have the first babies from em swimmin around the tank. Im hoping they all color up as they grow. Good luck with your shrimp! Be careful with the bettas since they may harass the shrimp.

Hey James (or anyone else that can help), I have a fish question I was hoping you could answer. Recently (as in two days ago) I bought some aqua soil for my 20 gallon to plant two small red melon plants in. I put in the soil, and then the water... and that’s where it went wrong. The water became super dark - almost like coffee. It’s cleared up a little since then, but if I even move the soil at ALL it gets dark again. I don’t know what to do. The lady at the LFS said it was good soil, and the package said to just put it directly into the water (I tried rinsing out the second bag, but it just made the water darker). Is that supposed to happen? Will the tank be okay? Should I get rid of the soil? Also, I heard it can produce ammonia. I’m sorry for this long and off topic comment, but I really need help.

I think that mixing the different colors will cause them to breed babies that revert back to the wild, brown coloration. I think you need to make sure the colors breed with the same color to ensure the babies breed 'true' and stay great colors.

Not really, you can get a modest setup fairly cheap. Buy a 2nd hand setup if you need to, just water test it before you buy it or be prepared to reseal it.

I got my first tank when I was eleven and it wasn’t even my birthday my mom just got it for me when I asked and I recommend getting a big tank because it’s easier to clean because smaller water changes you can get a 20 gallon for like 50 bucks at Walmart but don’t buy ur fish there Walmart is trash
