Trust me i fill up my pond with this water and all the fish are fine. I’ve been doing it for a while now and also when I had fish in my 80 gallons way before I even started youtube the fish were fine when I used my well water. So think before you react.

lol that doesn't matter it is so easy just to look up how to start an aquarium and you will know everything you need to start one having well water doesn't mean your tank is cycled i was not talking about treating the water i was talking about letting the beneficial bacteria grow i your tank so your fish will have the best chance of living. Please before you make more videos do your research and if you do it right no one will criticize you if you do it right. Also when responding to someones comment search what they are talking about on google because saying that you have well water so your tank is already cycled shows that you know as much about keeping fish as a newborn baby. PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH it take 2 minutes to get basic facts on what to do and what not to do

Your water doesn't need to be treated ahead of time because its well water. Thats great however you still need to cycle ponds and aquariums. When you start new tanks and add fish without cycled filter media the tanks will cycle on their own however this is a very stressful process for the fish. Many fish won't live through the cycling process. It is best you learn the nitrogen cycle.

recommend to get any kind of canister filter you can . Low maintenance and is the best filter for big tanks . pretty hard to kill your fish after you have a canister filter running for a while !

Luke Dombrowski maybe you should educate yourself on how a fish filter actually works. The water doesn't make the tank safe for fish, the filter does with the beneficial bacteria it grows inside of it. Without beneficial bacteria the ammonia levels will go way up with all those fish in it. But you know I have only been keeping fish for 10 years what do I know lol

Yes Luke, using the pond water does not cycle the tank. You need established filter media for your new filter. Also should consider adding more filtration all together. This is something a lot of people have been trying to explain to you and Paul. I like your videos and your passion many of us just think you guys could use an education on the nitrogen cycle.

Luke Dombrowski brand new filters & brand new tanks tend to go through a cycling process (the nitrogen cycle), which is essentially a build up of good bacteria to help support the life in the tank when they are producing waste. Without this bacteria your ammonia will likely spike. Have you checked your levels at all?

i used that same sand in my 10 gallon.. i didn't rinse it and it was a huge mistake.

yeah, it took me forever to get the water clear. also, the little pieces of black crap kept floating up to the top. it's a year later and finally the water is clear and the sand sits on the bottom. without any airbubbles. i literally had to take all the scaping out and clean out all the sand. but after a million water changes it looks good now.
