He knows that drop eye is caused sometimes from fat deposits behind the eye so be careful how much you are feeding him. Or it could be that there is to many bottom feeders but if the balls don't work then when the fish gets larger you can do eye correction surgery on him. But wish you best of luck with your fish

No bettas don’t eat till they explode
I kept bettas for a really long time before they actually got old and eventually died
Bettas are picky eaters
It’s better to feed them betta food like little red stones and not a lot at a time just 2 pieces until he stops eating try it

WHAT THE FUCK!! I thought because you say YOU LIKE FISH A LOT you will put that betta in a GREAT TANK, but you put him in a SHITTY ACRYLIC TANK. Dude sometimes the stores have deals like $1.00 per gallon and they are glass tanks; thanks to a betta is how a start in this hobby and since I have my first fish (a betta) I BEEN TAKE CARING EACH FISH IN APPROPRIATE WAY AND WITH THE RIGHT SIZE TANK. Put your self in a closet and see how THAT’S FEEL

He doesn't need those bubbles, the water flow is waaaaaay too strong, he needs way more plants and not those sharp plants you have in there, they are going to hurt his fins. A betta will not literally explode from eating too much. What happens is they eat a ton, then the food swells up in their belly, you can see they’re extremely bloated, and they may just die. It’s important to know when to stop. I would recommend getting betta food, not tropical fish flakes, because bettas are insectivores/carnivores and the vegetable matter in tropical flakes will also cause bloating and constipation. Look for omega 1 betta buffet or something with real fish as the first ingredient (not fish meal).

The King of DIY Joey Mullen has been keeping arowana for years. He feeds them cut up pieces of raw tilapia, shrimp, beefheart and sometimes scallops, if they’re on sale. Buy in bulk and freeze to have food ready for months after.

30 gallon tank I say do a mix of rainbows, Congo tetras, killifish, and rams. With a pleco, maybe some cories, and a dwarf gourami

I actually love the Betta tank I think it’s nice seeing them in bigger tanks because they can act like real fish. I’ve even kept them in community tanks and they are actually perfectly fine. Or maybe the one I had was. But anyways can’t wait to see what you do with the 30g tank good luck hope you take some of my advice.
P.s. love the arrowana one of the coolest fish in the trade I just love watching them swim and patrol the tank. Well done!

beta fish in the natural wild live in rice fields in in Thailand during rainy seasons but when it drys up they are used to living in small puddles they call them fighting fish cuz during the dry summers they fight to the death over puddles and eat the loser fish to survive thats why they try to sell them with these small ass tanks(not saying thats cool) but a 5 gallon should be straight for one beta small a small plant and 2 snails trust me im daddy10

Maybe get a bull head catfish. They don't grow real big about 1 foot long so you don't need to worry about it out growing the tank. Food won't run out as fast. If you do get one don't put any other fish with it or they might get eaten

Redtail sharks with black pebbles, Taller artificial plants completed with medium sized white rocks to make their tails really pop . They don't really play along with other top water fish, so if you want to put them with other fish i recommend emerald green cory catfish.
