How's Rambo doing now?

Unless the fish is already sick or the water has high levels of toxicity, I really wouldn't recommend using chemical medicine for the fish as they can give more damage than help. Diligent water changes and no overfeeding would be ample help for him to heal. If medicine is deemed absolutely necessary, then use a silver-based liquid as opposed to a tea-tree oil based one. Silver is a natural antibiotic and immune booster, whereas tea-tree oil will coat the fish' insides and can be very harmful. :)

Hi:) Nice hospital tank set up! I just dont think you should use a product with "fix" in it (Such as BettaFix) because it contains tea tree oil which CAN coat your bettas labyrinth organ, resulting in serious breathing  damage and possible drowning and death:( So please try not to do use it;) Also try using aquarium salt (1 teaspoon per 1 US gallon of water) for better gill malfunction. But pre mix it in some tank water tell dissolved, if you dont it will end up burning him and bad damage to his scales. And even though you have a filter, do a 25% water change 1 to 2 times a day! Keep his water at 80 F for a better recovery:)) Good Luck readers!

Bella And Bettas I'm so glad I saw your comment. I just bought betta fix today, I'm returning tomorrow. Is there any other add-ins I can put in my tank to help with fin rot?

I find it odd but well suited that you put one Betta Fish in a big tank. Obviously yes, I know, you can't put them together in a tank or they will kill each other. But I use a plastic round bowl you can get at pet smart. I put fish obstacles like plants and marbles at the bottom. I don't have a heater nor a filter. I have my fish on the counter table and there are 4 spread out lights on top of that. They seem to give them perfect heat and light. Then I use some sort of a cleansing droplet bottle. And when I feel there tank gets dirty or old. I clean it thoroughly but put the fish in kind of what you have but not a hospital and much smaller. It seems to have worked both you and I depending on how long your fish have lived. Mine has lives for 2 years plus and still going

Adding a not-as-hostile comment here; Bettas thrive in large tanks, and will live longer and healthier. small tanks, unlike popular opinion, are not good for bettas. The only reason that pet stores sell them in that way is for space reasons, along with the fad of having a fish on your desk. It's "cute", but in most cases very inhumane. Bettas can live in small tanks, and with diligent water changes can live for a few years, but they will be uncomfortable and stressed. :)

Betta in a big tank, 2.5 gallon minimal, can live 7+ years (even with a tumor, real story here). I find your comment disrespectfully to people that are highly devoted to fish keeping and take things very seriously because you're just showing off your insensitive handling of betta fish here.

It came with the product, it is used to make sure no dirt gets into the fragile system of the pump. It just lets the pump last longer. And it came with the product

It is difficult to discover in the beginning, but discolored fin tips can be a sign of fin rot, this means the tips turn brown or blackish. If the discoloration spreads to affect more of the fin area you know your fish has finrot.

The heater actually works fine in a small aquarium like that. I had my betta in there for a week when he had finrot and the water temp stayed around 78f all the time. Maybe you are talking about a different heater. This one automatically shuts of when a temp of 78f is reached. It works in any tank under about 3g. This is not one of those cheap heaters that just heat with a certain strength 24/7, it self regulates to a set temperature

that heater is going to make that tiny plastic tank over heat and kill any fish. I know this because I've tested that heater in a 1 gallon betta tank and the temp went up to 90! Needs to be a 2.5 gallon minimum and hide heater under marbles if possible. 3 gal if u want a completely bare tank. It,s almost impossible to find an appropriate heater for anything smaller.

I'm well aware of that, but it is a good medicine and works well against fin rot at its early stages. If there is a lot of surface motion on the water there won't be an oil build up and the betta wont experience that problem. As you can see in my video the water is in constant motion because of the filter so the medicine won't harm the betta. The only reason people don't really like this medicin is because they treat their bettas in bowls were there is no surface motion.
