Minimum tank size is ideally 2.5 gallons. Definitely no female unless your planning on breeding and even then the tank is too small.

Thanks! Cory's are a great addition to any tank! They're so fun and energetic. They need to be in minimum groups of 3 preferably 5 or more.

I successfully put 4 female Betta in my 32g heavy planted tank with tetra, Cory, snail, 2 female guppies and 1 male. I put them for 2 days floating in their cups in my 10g and switching them every few hours, then I put them all after 2 days in my 32g. No chasing happened, no black lines on their body except 1 Betta but after few hours it goes away. I put 2 anubias using magnetic coral holder on one front corner, two Betta always share that spot and sometime all of them are there, I am adding 1 more Betta I bought online. Your video on how to put Betta really works. Thank you so much.

I think I watched your video many many times everyday. I love your aquarium and I wish instead I got 32g I got 2 of 10g and 1 20g. I spent a lot in that. Got JBJ 45g stand, fluval 206, fluval co2, orbit lights, aquamaxx 32 low iron tank, and more. On top of that I can keep only 1 Betta. Oh well I will find room in my house. Lol

If it's fin nipping and he has no tank mates in the tank then it's usually a sign of stress and insecurity. I had one that did the same thing, so I changed his tank up and put lots of plants in and now he doesn't do it anymore. The water needs to be kept really clean so infection doesn't set in. If the tank is filtered I'd do 50% once a week, if it's not filtered I'd do 100% twice a week. If it's fin rot it depends how developed it is. If it's mild then daily water changes for a few weeks should clear it up but if it's advanced it would need medication.

+Ally Tiffany yes my tank have a lot of live plants and driftwood. My Betta is male butterfly and about 2" long only, his buddies are 2 pair of guppies, that he love to swim and eat close to them, have Cory, shrimp, swordtail too. Ty I have hope now, my fish are almost same size.

Male bettas should not live together. A tank setting is not the same as the wild. In the wild they fight over territory but once the more dominant one wins the other will leave. In a tank there is no option to leave. You don't want to subject a Betta to a life of hiding and fearing for its life. Guppies can be a good option for Bettas it all depends on the aggression level of your Betta.

You can have another male but be very careful, as long as your tank is very very planted, when male bettas see each other they will go the opposite way of each other and hide in the plants( like in the wild ) , but I would make sure if your Betta is not too agressive towards each other. But you can have smaller fish like guppies.

Thanks for watching. No, male Bettas can't live together they will likely kill each other. Neither can a male and female they will also likely kill each other if left together. Male and females only come together to mate and even then they cause each other injury!! You could add some other peaceful tropical fish like Julii Cory's they need to be in groups of 3-5. A lot depends on the aggression level of your Betta. Not all Bettas can live with other fish.

+Lifewithpets Thanks for the info, I've had 6 female Bette's in a large fish bowl years ago and they did great together, I did of course get them a big tank later on though. But I don't want anything bigger then a 5 G so I think I'll just get one male betta instead

Thanks for watching! Females need to be in a group a 5 minimum this helps to spread out aggression. Any less than that and they're likely to kill each other. Even in a group of 5 there are still no guarantees they will get on. A 5 gallon tank is not big enough to support a group of females. You could only put 1 female in with maybe a snail or two.

Love your tank but I think the current in your tank is a bit to strong for the bettas and therefore they can get really tired when they are swimming.

Looking good! I always preferred live plants to fake ones. ps do your platies keep having babies? my 2 female platies keep giving birth to fry. One gave birth once and the other has given birth twice and now shes pregnant again?? I hate the fact that all these fish are being born and most are being eaten within a day of birth. Right now i have 23 fry in my tank... :( and i got females because i thought after the first load of babies were born it would stop.

+Firstname Lastname Thanks for watching! I currently have sand in two tanks, gravel in 2 tanks and 2 bare bottom tanks. I really like the look of the sand and it is easy to clean for the most part! The fish waste just sits on the top of the sand so it's easy to do a spot clean. You also have to stir it up each week to remove any toxic gas pockets, that's the part I don't like about, my tank is then a little cloudy for an hour or so.
