I have a betta that has something wrong. iv had him since after Christmas. I have to keep him in a small (1.5 gallon) tank because he can't swim as good. it has a low flow filter, light, and decor. When I first got him he had swim bladder. He was in bad conditions(he came from walmart).

Aww...I'm sorry I hope he gets better soon. Try fasting him for a few days then feeding a cooked de shelled mashed pea. Hopefully this will help.

Lifewithpets our house is too hot as it is, but yes I do have one on stand by. we think since he came from walmart he has been this way. he is prone to swim bladder, hope he isn't getting it again

Some plants have parasite eggs. Mine hatched into wearied looking aquatic bugs.

+Fashion Dogs It all depends on the size of the tank and the size of the fish. I have several tanks, but my 2.5 gallons only have one fish and a small snail. My 20 gallon has 6 fish in. They're all small and won't grow beyond 1.5 inches. I'm planning on getting 5 more for it this weekend. Then it will be fully stocked.

I've purchased two betta hammocks. One is glued to the tank because the suction cup doesn't work anymore. The other, works great and my male uses it all the time

I had a feeling that you bought that betta lol and also i got 2 platies on sunday too! One is fully gold and the other is mostly gold with an orange gradient towards the tail. Also well done for trying live plants, i was apprehensive about adding them but they seem to do well. I use a liquid fertiliser with my plants which really helps. i think anubias likes to attach its roots to something, like driftwood. Btw have you ever kept rams before?

+Jack smith That's fantastic. My first fish were common goldfish too. They lived 14 years! A pond is a great idea. Mine lived in a pond the last two years of their life.

+Lifewithpets The two fish are common goldfish. Both around 8 inches body length. Ones fully gold and the other is fully silver. I have them in a 40gal, but looking for a nice pond where they wont get eaten by birds or cats.

+Lifewithpets Yeah I've heard that too but i also know someone who keeps a pair in a 30l with harlequins. They are really pretty fish and i thought they would mame a nice centerpiece fish for my tank. Ive thought about a betta but i reccon my neons would tair appart the bettas fins and wouldn't like the brightly coloured platies for company. Im not a fan of the way dwarf gouramis look and honeys are the same colour as my platies. angelfish would be perfect if they stayed small. :( I think im gonna have a long think about this one... unless you can suggest a nice looking fish that would stand out from the neons/platies?

+Jack smith Wow, what are the two fish you've had for 10 years? Rams are beautiful, but difficult to keep. We had 2 for several years in a 55 gallon tank. 20 gallons and up is ideal and the reason for that is they need pristine water conditions and the smaller the tank the harder that is to achieve. Their care is similar to discus. They need soft water and a temperature of 80-82f. They don't cope well with large water changes so you'd need to do them more often. If the water parameters change suddenly you will lose them.

+Lifewithpets Cool, ive kept fish from when i was 6 years old and still have my first 2 fish today (10 years later). Id definitely recommend a liquid fertiliser they really help the plants. and my platies are great, no agression or chasing... unlike my tetras :/ Infact they like to follow each other around the tank. Im looking at getting 2 gold/electric blue rams to go in my tank. I've heard they are quite finicky fish when it comes to water quality so do you have any tips on keeping them?

+Jack smith Platys are great fish. I'm getting more on Saturday along with the Corys. I also hope to get more plants. I was thinking Amazon sword and water wisteria. I've been looking into the liquid fertilizer and I think I will get some. Yes, I have kept Rams. I've kept most fish over the last 25 years!!
