Yaaaah but at the time I didn't like seeing the waterline or have to worry about water stains becoming visible but yah, I should have kept it low until I was able to get a lid.
It's not too full when you have a lid but it is when you don't

The word thing is, is that my betta never jumps. I never use the lid to his 5 gallon tank and he never jumps. I have had him for a couple of years too.

Not all bettas jump and they don't need to. But if you want them to, you can train them by holding their food above the water...of course that may not always work since every bettas different in personality. But never have no lid on your tank just so your betta can jump, because if he does jump, he could jump out of the tank and onto the floor. That's what eventually happened to the betta in this video, she died from jumping out onto the floor.

In the wild, if they are trapped in a small puddle they will also jump out to get into a bigger puddle/ river so thats why they are such great jumpers

Well the story is, when she was aggressive torwards the other fish I would put her in a cup to calm down and get used the fish without being able to hurt them. But one time I came back to the tank to check on her but she wasn't in the cup, so I put her back in and this time I watched her for a while and then suddenly she jumped out so the third time I decided to record since she kept jumping out...she really didn't like cups, no betta does.

Uuuumm the water in that cup was water from the tank, I was temporaraly putting her in that cup because she was being aggressive, that water wasn't dirty what so ever and wasn't petstore water.☺ Besides she doesn't even stay in the cup long enough to make it dirty since she jumps out

Yeah, sadly some people don't listen and some think they are perfectly fine in dirty water. Heck, Orion has to stay in his cup until tomorrow when my dad gets off. then we need to take a water sample of the tank down to the pet shop to see if it's safe. I clean out the cup and try to make him as happy as possible! Tomorrow he shall be free.

Scarlett, my female betta who doesn't like betta cups, She's showing the world that bettas do not like being in small cups or bowls so don't keep your bettas in anything less than 2.5 gallons. But 5 gallons is better! :-D

Animal Lover 2.5 or more is usually what people say, but the bettas I know love having their space for 5-10 gallons. Some even prefer 10+ gallons as long as it's a heavily planted tank!

Animal Lover 2 gallons is too small still wth? All around where I live the minimum is considered 54 litres which is about 15 gallons I think.

There's actually five females bettas in that tank and female bettas can be kept together in a 10 gallon tank or larger and it has to be 5 to even it out, its called a female betta sorority and a lot of people have them :-) it's the male bettas that are way more aggressive and will kill each other. females can kill each other too if there's less then 5 in a tank smaller than a 10 gal.

sorry no i dont really have any tips , but the best thing to have when a betta has finrot is aquarium salt, its sooooo helpful to a fishes health everyone would recommend it. it can be used whenever your fish is sick even if its not finrot but yah thats pretty much all there is as a cure for fin rot. sorry if you already knew about aquarium salt. people also say you need to keep the betta in clean water which are already doing so :-D yah sure i mean i have a lot of online friends :-) and you can be one of them, i see your into minecraft is that what your channel will be about? i have MC YouTube account.

Animal Lover Sam is a crowntail and he looked more like a delta tail at the time. Do u have any tips for how to permanently stop Finrot. He has a habit of getting it and getting better even after I cleaned his tank. Btw my tank is 2.5 for each of them and I do a 50% water change. Hey me and u can be friends I guess. Just came in my mind

Yah, I guess we all make mistakes on having our first fish, I'm happy to here yours are doing better though :-D my first male betta died like a week after I got him cause I didn't have water conditioner, so lesson learned. My current male betta has fin rot right now cause I had been to lazy with cleaning his tank, so lesson learned there too. Now he's slowly getting better :-D

I have 2 betta fish named Sam and Kevin I've learned the hard way of having a dirty tank they both got bad and I mean bad Finrot. Kevin is butterfly betta and you can not see the white band anymore. Thankfully I've learned from my mistakes and he is all or mostly better now. They're my first fishes ever so I now a lot now about them

This is so funny!
Just be careful. One time I had a betta fish and she had a good sized tank but the kid had a very small hole about the size of a quarter. And so one morning I woke up and she wasn't there! I checked the filter, in the gravel, everywhere. So after being frustrated About not understanding why I couldn't find my fish, I eventually forgot about it. Months after the incident, I was moving some things around my room and I moved my dresser and there she was!!!! Poor thing was dead of course but at least I found her!

Oh no!!! I was passing by my bettas tank one day, and I couldn't find her, and she's a baby so even worse! I checked the gravel, filter, air pump, hideout, and then I saw a flash of yellow, and stuck my hand out, and I caught her! I was so freaked out after that, I covered up the hole that I used to put food in.

Lol we had 2 tanks 1 for my betta and 1 for my gold fish (they are tiny af) then in like my 1st day with my goldfish my betta jumped to the other aquarium and killed 5 goldfish lol i kept my betta and goldfish in a seperate room, i have red belly piranhas and bettas in the same room tho so nothing will happen. lol

yeah it was annoying sometimes because I needed her to stay in the cup so she wouldn't attack the others but there was no stopping her lol she died a while ago from jumping out of the tank, since I hadn't had a lid yet for the tank.

My lavender multi-colored male Betta named Mauve does this too, except instead of crawling out he jumps into the water :D

I understand you didn't have a lid for the tank, but you should have kept the water level a bit low so that it would be harder for her to jump. But it's alright, at least your fish lived a good life :)

yeah I wish of could of had a lid at that time but I didn't think they would need one but Scarlett was claustrophobic or something because she didnt like cups in which she was in because she was being bad and then one day she was up against the glass wall and she must if thought she was in a cup again so she jumped out I wasn't there when it happened and I was like surching for a long time in the tank even my sister joined me and them suddenly I felt something weird on my nee because I was nelling and I was so surprise to find Scarlett on the floor all dried out and extremely dog hairy I put her in water hopeing for a miracle but the next morning the water she was in was all yellow in other words she was dead. but anyway I'm glad to have a lid today

+shoekicks sole haha yeeeah :-) I was pretty unsmart with betta fish at the time and never thought she would jump out of the tank because I thought she only didn't like the cups. But, oops :-D and she was a VERY aggressive one in the tank anyways, so, the others were probably happy for her to go and I kinda was too. But also really wasn't because I still care about them even if they are aggressive and stuff and because I loved how she could jump out of the cup and make me really confused thinking that I thought I put her in the cup lol but yeah lowering the water would've been a good idea at the time (sigh) if only I new :-( but thankyou for your comment ;-) have a nice day today :-D byeee

But I wasn't to connected to her because I had her for a very short time but when one dies it gets existing to go to the petstore and pick out a bran new one and you might even be lucky to find your dream fish.anyway thanks for caring though :-)♡

Yeah :-), how she could jump like that, thats what I liked about her. But its too bad she passed away, she died from jumping out of tank one day instead.Because back when I first got the 10 gallon, I didn't have a lid for it yet. It was shocking to find her on the floor.
