Since I'll have a 10 gallon tank with a filter should I clean it once a month or 2 weeks ?

I did? That is silly, i probably meant once a week. Keep the water changes up and the algae should go away after a while if you have a low enough fish population and good filter

You mentioned you should only need to clean your fish tank once a month. I have a Fluval 3- 2.6 gal tank and the algae is building up on everything before the end of the week. I clean the tank once a week and do 20%-30% water changes once a week and 40%-50% water change when cleaning the tank. Can't seem to figure out how to keep it clean!

I had some in my shrimp tank before and they are a bit fragile. My tank doesn't have its algae problem anymore either. If you check out one of my newer vids you wont see any algae in the tank
