Betta inspecting new tank mate freshwater crab UPDATE! I Forgot about this video until recently, and have seen so much interest! Thank you! To clear up a lot of the question you have, Horace the ( freshwater Crab ) & Jasper the ( Betta ) Lived together very peacefully after this video for several months until Horace decided to escape and completely disappeared. This was the most intense interaction i ever saw them have after this they left each other well alone. Also unseen in this video is that the tank they were in was actually originally a turtle tank and had several above water level areas for crabs to spend time. The crabs scientific name is : Austrothelphusa Transversa It is a type of native Australian crab, i assume if you do not live in Australia it would be quite difficult to obtain this specific species.
