The new male seems to be a mustard gas rose tail from what I see. :)

I got myself a metallic turquoise and blue butterfly crown tail. Some of the most handsome fish are bettas.

Oh and on another note! I would recomend that breeders not breed LPS fish because you are more likely to end up with birth defects on all of the fry.

I think the "butterfly halfmoon" you are referring to is a rose tail halfmoon. If you look them up their fins are more ruffled and bunched together.:P

@bdd458 That's not true. Since when was smaller tanks better? Bigger tanks will actually sustain the life time of fish. Research stuff before you actually say what's better for pets. People who keep bettas in bowls with no filtration and a heating element are just killing their betta slowly. That's also not true on that they will kill each other, females that have been bred can be kept in the same tank, males however will need to be moved to an individual habitat.

bettas shouldn't be in aquariums but in smaller tanks. they should never be put in the same tank because they will try and kill each other.

Well the male's real color is, Orange and black bi-color. If you can get a video or picture of him flaring i can tell if he is a Rosetail or Halfmoon.

she died just last week.(she was one of my favorites such a sweet personality) she had a tumor on her head i believe and it made it hard for her to eat. i had 4 butterfly halfmoons and i only have one left. i believe they had birth defects i breed the white one with a round tail male... and i have one of the babies... its a female not sure what her breed is now lol.

@bettamaster1000 well see the pet store didn't really know what they had. i filped out when i seen him and his two sisters.they told me some old man droped them off i bought all 3 as soon as i got them home all 3 cought a bad case if ick the two grls made it but the one u seen in this vid didn't i went back and bought another one and hes happily liveing in a 5gallon tank :) ! he cost about 4bucks! and his sisters were like 3!

Actually you need a minimum of 3 gallons (1 gallons ok, anything under is bad...) And if you keep females together, you need a minimum tank size of 10 galns (I believe you have that) And a minimum or 4 females, but more is better. Search "Sorority" But, I believe those two are sisters, and sisters can usually live together like that. Just want to add, bubblenest's aren't a sign of happiness, they're just natural instinct and he was probably more active in the 10 g he was more happy if so...
