How about nugget? ( that's the name of a casino here in Louisiana. the golden nugget
Please do your research before buying a fish and just because one person says it's ok does it mean you can do it if you actually do any research you can see most people will say they need at lease a 2.5 gallon with a heater and a filter, I think a 5 gallon is minimum.

please do your research because you don't know shit about your fish.
(Edit) Do NOT forget the heater. Thank you.
I know you asked the workers but most of the time they don't know better...in all honesty I'm sad about that.
Betta fish ARE sturdy, but the fact that they're surviving doesn't mean they are enjoying it...
I know you didn't know better but.... please, PLEASE I beg of you don't keep your pets in those conditions...
btw that's a little informative video about... you know... pets
Congratulations!! on the learning and work/life opportunity of meeting Greg, Brian, Ed, and Chris. What an amazing offer for such a young brilliant mind.
A Betts fish(male and female) need a 2.5 gallon at least.
The filter needs to be a low flow filter because a Betts fish is not a strong swimmer.
They need a place to hide if stressed.
And need a light of some sort. They also need a heater
You are a nice young man. I am most certain you care about your fish. Do some real research. You can make a really cool set up for that $50 you spent on that less than adequate tank. I uae to breed fish and sell aquatic plants. I know a lot about the hobby. You have a great channel. And growing a following. Now back it up with knowledge! You will be happier, more succeasful, and ypur fish will appreciate it.
Because Greg just gave you a GREAT FUTURE

I know that some bettas with big tails can have health issues from larger aquariums, but even then the tank should still be 10 gallons! From showing this, you are encouraging people to make terrible mistakes, you know well that keeping the water parameters in a tank under 5 gallons under control is almost impossible. People are going to continue to put bettas into jars and wine glasses because they cant understand that bettas aren't decorations, they are living beings, no different from me and you in the sense that they have a powerful will to live.
Honestly, I don't even like community tanks because you don't get to see and understand each individual being inside. Think about it. You are keeping a being that freely flows throughout the water, and putting them inside of a glass cage. It's like a caged bird, they could be flying and enjoying living, but instead, they have to sit and watch everyone else do it.
I love them
a proper betta set up should be no less than 5g with sand and live plants. you should also provide at least one hide .
live plants also need lighting and fertilizer.
you need a sponge filter for your tank as well. have you ever heard of a nitrogen cycle? look it up. it takes weeks to cycle a tank properly.
you also need to get water conditioner to treat you water. seachem prime is best.
0:52 "I already know I'm getting comments that these are too small, but right there it says it's not too small. So I'm gonna go with PetSmart, and PetCo, and any pet stores' rules and get this sucker for the betta fish."
I just have to point out that you know better, but you chose to go for an inadequate tank for your own convenience while ignoring the bettas' well-being.
Relying on the advice of a chain pet store like PetSmart or PetCo is unwise, mainly because they just want to make money. Just because a pet store sells it doesn't mean it's ok. They sell sand for reptile terrariums, which can cause impaction in smaller reptiles. They sell goldfish as feeders for Oscars, for example, when goldfishes are high in fat (leading to fatty liver disease) and thiaminase (which destroys Vitamin B1, causing vitamin deficiencies in your fish). Pet store products (or any stores' products) don't pass an ethics test before getting put on the shelf. Just because someone is selling you something, does not mean that they want the best for you. They want your money.
This tank has a lot of problems, mainly:
- Water volume too small. The minimum size to maintain good water quality and swimming space is 2.5 for one fish. Most people wouldn't recomment below 5 gallons for a single betta. This set up grants each fish a meager 0.7 gallons.
- Stress from multiple bettas. The connecting walls between each compartment is clear, so that the fish will be able to see each other at all times. This can contribute to stress from over-flaring, shred fins, or fin-biting behavior (where a fish bites its own fins out of stress and frustration).
- Shared water. Given the above stress factors, it's highly likely that the fish will develop diseases or contract infections/parasites. Additionally, given that the fish share water, if one fish gets sick, they all get sick.
PLEASE LEARN ABOUT A PET BEFORE YOU GET IT, RESEARCH ITS NEEDS, AND DO THE BEST YOU CAN! <3

Tip: If you buy a porous sponge and biomedia in bag, they will fit in the bottom so you can have a place for beneficial bacterial to harbor on.
