Can You Have More Than One (1) Betta Fish in a Tank?

Check out: http://www.bettafish.us Can You Have More Than One (1) Betta Fish in a Tank? Well the answer is more involved than a simple yes or no. I do not recommend having two male betta fish in the same tank unless you are going to use a divider. Even so, if the two males get around each other it will not end well. Males will fight to the point of death or they will torture each other until one submits and then they will tease and pick on the one that submitted. I do recommend having one male and more than one female because there are times that the male will reject a female and if they do they are likely going to hurt or kill the female they rejected. So, it is a good move to have more than one female in the tank with a male because the male will not turn on the other females if he has one he bonds with. Now, if you are wondering, "Can You Have More Than One (1) Betta Fish in a Tank?" then the answer is yes if you are going all female because they will not war with one another. I do suggest having a gallon or two for every betta fish you have in the tank. Do not overcrowd them as this is cruel and wrong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq8lNsxi9Pw&feature=youtu.be

I originally thought that there was no way in the world that a male betta could ever live with another male betta.  I have had a V-tail red betta living with other community fish (guppies, mollies, different types of tetras, and even some goldfish)  so you could say that this Vtail had seen a lot of different type of fish and was socialized at this point.   Recently I added a crown tail betta into the tank (twitch) And so far no fighting.  I then later on met a lady who has had 23 MALE BETTAS in one 55 gallon tank (with other fish, community), with no fighting or aggression for a year now.   The key to housing male bettas is to FIRST establish a small community of fish.  When your community has been established,  adopt 1 male betta, and add him to the community, and see how it goes.   Once this betta is established and socialized, add another one etc etc.
