you can't just throw a fish in any cup of water and say it'll live.
Bettas thrive best in 10 Gallon, heated TANKS with many hiding spots and live plants.dont get it for a kid as a "toy" or a "decoration".
they also like other foods than flakes, such as bloodworms, or brine shrimp.
Freeze dried better than flakes, live food better than freeze dried.
Don't impulse buy a living being.

IT MATCHES HER FREAKING ROOM!? WHO GIVES A FLYING CRAP ABOUT WHETHER IT MATCHES HER ROOM!? God forbid you bought her another one after that one died! He barely had enough room to swim around in and he needed more plants than just that!
2. They mixed tank water
3: they probably used tap water
4: betas don’t require that much food
5: you shouldent put the food in your hand without washing them
6.halfmoon double tale mailed should not be kept in a unfiltered space as they like the vibrations and the bubbles
Edit: Fish bowl. But to me they count as jars.
UGH

they do not overly like being in small tanks
do not feed them too much or he might get sick
don't never clean the fish because you think he'll be fine
Once transferred to the aquarium you have to keep an eye on the water quality, you don't want your precious Betta to swim in it's own P&P do you?
Hope you care and enjoy your Betta for long time.
small..
1. You NEED a 2.5 gallon tank NO LESS
2. You MUST only feed 1 little peice of food daily
3. You need a filter or you MUST clean the tank 50% twice a week
4. You need a heater in the tank (they are from a tropical place) At least 75-85°
5. DO NOT POKE THE GLASS
6. Never put bettas together
7. Don't put sharp objects in the tank (It could cut there fins)
8. You need to alcamate them so they get used to the water
Please Follow These
I really hate seeing these animals abused
Yes it is actally ubusing
Thank You
PLEASE NO HATING ON THIS COMMENT ITS MY OPPION AND REAL HEALTH ISSUES AND CARE FACTS FOR THE FISH
Also if you read the whole thing it says NO HATE. Those are all facts and its for health and care for the fish. So why do you even care? I have researched on this fish for over 5 years I think I would know so trust me its right. You have no place to tell me im wrong and unreal because there facts.
so I could work my up to a pufferfish) but I sure do know that fish can NOT live in the conditions you have him in. You need to definitely research before you buy a fish unless you want it to die.I personally don't care about his daughter. He should teach her that bettas and other fishes (and animals in general) are living and intelligent creatures. They may be scared of something, stressed, nervous and feel pain. That's NOT a toy. If you want to have pets, you should do everything to make them happy and healthy.
*And sorry for this english, I know it's bad, but I'm still learning!
seriously bettas are not childrens toys but these people don't realize that
MLKKK
But I agree, the water shouldn't have mixed in, is the water treated/cycled, the plant's too sharp, etc. Sorry baby but caring for a fish is just like caring for a dog.
My class was going to get a fish early in the year, but we didn't because I stood up and explained that the two gallon tank they had purchased was unbelievably small. Luckily, they soon purchased a ten gallon tank, two houses, plants, and two fish. Though a ten gallon tank isn't great, it's way better than what they first had.
Bettas are very hearty fish, so they won't hurt a human. Feed them 1-2 pellets once every day, and feed him some dried blood worms for a healthy diet. Don't put 2 bettas in one tank or they will fight. Clean the tank once a week, and treat the water so the betta can live longer. Also look out for sickness. If you have a bubble nest show up, dont over react, this is normal.
Also, the only reson why i did Betta Fish 101, is because the people in this video need some help on how to care for a betta. Also, dishonest click bait.
fish don't breathe through their mouth like mammals they breath through their gills on their side.
IT MORE BUY A 14$ TANK IDIOT
I am not Hating
1) Bettas Need At Least 2.5 Gallons Of Water. And They Need To Live In A TANK not a Bowl. As a bowl spoils bettas eyesight
2) The tank needs to be filtered and heated
3) first, you should acclimate the betta fish, then Net It gently inside (if u get a new betta, only then net it) As YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO MIX THE STORE WATER WITH UR PRE TREATED WATER
4) Was your water even pre treated? You should've at least put water conditioner.
5) your betta fish needs a light in his tank
6) YOU HAVE A SHARP PLASTIC PLANT IN YOUR TINY BOWL!! At least put a silk plant!
7) You CANNOT OVERFEED THE BETTA
4 PELLETS ARE MAXIMUM FOR ONE TIME IN A DAY.
8) NO-NO-NO TO THIS VIDEO
9) I'm NOT HATING
JUST TELLING SO U CAN GET A BETTA IN THE FUTURE AND TAKE PROPER CARE!
I'm helping you by telling and trust me i am not hating this video! This is a pretty betta pls take proper care
Mom- "don't tell her that"
you should never have two betta fish in the same tank.
unless you have a divider.
females can be just as violent.
I have much more space, and I can see the fish better
I guess I should have expected it to be clickbetta
Over feeds him.
I'm 12, I know that this is wrong and stupid to!
Not all parents are like this, there even are good people at the world...
so dont say that kind of things please
(I am not trying to mean or something
All I have to say
Mistakes here and there but that dose not give you a rite to insult him or his family!
If anyone is stupid it's you. The person who spells "you" as "u" and the calls someone else stupid when all they did was state facts and bring awareness to these people.
And if you plan on breeding, they must be conditioned first, together but separated. Some people put a male and female in a divided tank, others set them in small tanks next to each other, there's multiple ways, but if you drop one straight into the tank with the other, there's a 99% chance that there will be some pretty bloody fights.
But, I'm glad to hear that your betta is happy and healthy! And the 10 gallon project would definitely be a great idea. I have my little guy in a well-planted 10 gallon and he aboslutely loves it.
they will live much longer in a 10 gallon and be far less prone to disease.
each to his own.
I know THAT but it will not take months to Let the water rest until it is good for a Fish. and bettas are pretty Easy fish if you take care for them like you would do for each other Fish.
Where did you get that information?!
Why did he put deadly in the title
Okay first of all its the little girls first pet we've all had our first pets and let me tell you this I'm pretty sure your fucking parents didn't spend hundreds of dollars on just one pet especially a fish.
Second its a fish with or without proper tools fish will die of natural causes.
And lastly has it ever occurred to any of you that her parents are teaching her how to be responsible? Notice how they told her she can't do certain things and how what she must do to keep it alive? So what if the fish dies because it lacked a filter, proper food, ect. Like you all are gonna spend a lot of money on just one fish really people? come on now stop picking on the these guys and look at yourselves for once I'm pretty sure you guys have done the same thing at some point whether your pet was a Dog , Cat ,Fish ,Bird or Hamster you've at least bought something that was bad for your pet or didn't know how to take care of it
I never said 1 gallons were bad, I temporarily kept a veiltail in one. He was very happy in there and was just as happy as soon as I put him into a 10 gallon.
I personally enjoy seeing them have a lot of space to move and swim around as well as explore so they don't become bored and resort to nipping their own fins and excessive flaring.
Like I said, it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars to give your betta a large space. Around 30 for your tank and equiptment and 20 or less for your decor. At least here in Canada it's pretty cheap if you look for good deals.
Thank you for being civil despite my previous attitude.
I hope next time around they spend a little extra to make both their daughter and her pet happy, Betta are absurdly hardy to be sure but that tiny step further really makes the difference.
well, you clearly have nothing to counter literally any points i've brought up, don't know why i even expected anything. i'll take my leave and we can consider this over.
a damn child shouldn't have the 'responsibility' of taking care of a living breathing animal if they don't even know how to use a fucking toilet. by saying "it's just a fish" you're implying it's not worth the effort, thus you're saying they're 'disposable' animals.
it's pretty obvious you don't care about the well being of the fish itself, only whether or not the kid is getting a good life lesson at the cost of the fish's life. good job, you're probably a kid yourself who doesn't know jack about what they're talking about.
MANY people, myself included, have spent a lot of money making sure our pets are thriving, not surviving. in great conditions i've met people who had bettas live up to 5-10 years. when you give them the conditions they need, their true colors shine through. my little Jerry has a whole 10 gallon all to himself and spends no time sitting around when there's so much to look at and enjoy and gets nothing but the best food and equipment. it's worth the investment and enjoyment of making a small life better.
that said, it doesn't cost hundreds of dollars to get the fucking bare basics of betta care. simple filter? $20. Simple heater? $15. A 10 gallon? $10. There you fucking go, just a little bit more expensive than getting useless bowl with some clown puke colors cause "oooh it's pretty!". even decor is simple. a bag of pool filter sand is $12 and plastic plants aren't more than $10 usually and you can go out and get your own AQ safe rocks from the damn park.
a betta cramped in a bowl with a sharp plastic plant and nothing new to look at and explore is going to be a sad fucking betta that sits at the bottom all day doing jack shit and end up suffocating and burning from lack of properly treated water and ammonia build-up or over-feeding leading to life threatening obesity.
don't fucking buy an animal if you're not going to research how to take care of it you dense fuck. every life matters. and don't fucking start about "oh it's to show her how to be responsible!" they can fucking do that without killing a damn fish in the process. they over-fed the poor thing on the first go.
