The "DIY Betta Fish Tank" video is part of the Betta aquarium category, which contains similar videos like this one.
First of all bettas need at least 2.5 gals of water. Your bin idea is EXCELLENT, I keep some of my own bettas in bins because I find actual aquariums to cost too much. However 6 qts is not big enough. It's equivalent to about 1.5 gallons. You may not think one gallon of water isn't that important but I promise you it is. I use 15 qt bins from Walmart that cost $5, please at least consider upgrading your girl.
You need a filter. Not sure if I saw one. And you need to cycle it as well. Cycling is when you grow beneficial bacteria on/in a filter that takes ammonia and changes it to something far less toxic. I can explain in more detail if needed however I suggest googling how to do so for a more through explanation.
Depending on what you keep your house at you may need a heater. Bettas need temps of 78-82 degrees, they are tropical fish. If you aren't close to that all the time then you need to look into a heater.
I don't think I saw or heard you mention water conditioner. This is something you need. The chemicals we put in our tap water are terrible for fish. I recommend Seachem Prime.
Bettas are super hardy fish but eventually not taking care of them right could cause a very premature death. Your betta should live happily to at least 5 years old. She may live that long in these conditions but it is cruel to keep her like this (which I don't blame you, false info is everywhere)
If you are willing to learn and communicate more I am willing to have an email conversation, however since you are younger I'm not sure if you have one. If you reply and ask for my email I will share it with you so I can get you properly educated!
Edit: I just looked at the vid description to see she's now in a 5 gal however I really suggest either editing the description to say this is not the proper size, as betta keepers we want to promote proper care in proper sized tanks and this may give people other ideas :/
