I am going to use this idea for a breeding tank. Put the male in, float the female, let them be together once I see a bubble nest and that the female has eggs. Eventually take the parents out and let the babies grow up.

You know what..
I've been raising and caring for fish for years. I currently have 7 tanks, 2 of them being betta.

Personally I wouldn't have used this, BUT that doesn't mean this isnt great.
As long as you are keeping your fish healthy, warm, and fed, get a few more of these dude, I'm glad you're kinda into fish

You just need a filter and a heater and your betta will be nice and cozy in his tank. They are never cozy and comfortable without a heater and clean water :)

You do not need a filter for a Betta they can survive without one because I had a Betta in a fish bowl for over 2 years

How long did this fish last? You need a filter and heater, no matter what the Internet says about Betta fish. How often are you cleaning the water and substrate? It's an interesting concept but the fish deserves better care than sitting in a plastic bin with no heater or filter.
