Zelle B When you're actively breeding them then yes alot of bubbles is a sign that your fish is getting ready to spawn but typically bettas will just make nests instinctually. I have two girls on my racks at the moment who regularly make little nests, it's quite funny.

Big City Bettas thank you for the tips! My friend who has been a betta breeder for years (more than 10 years) spawns his bettas when they create a whole lot of bubble nests and I learned from him but I've never tried. Looking at him breed bettas, he made it look so easy but I just am afraid to do so because there'so much work that gets put into it. I have so much respect for the betta breeders in Asia.

Bubblenests mean nothing really and you certainly shouldn't get a female to spawn again before raising your first successfully as you may not enjoy all the work involved. Even females will make bubblenests at times, all gouramis do. Also with all due respect if your female died from spawning than perhaps you need to learn more about spawning as that shouldn't happen when the fish is properly conditioned, in good health and precautions are taken. Even myself with years of experience and hundreds of spawns under my belt learns new things here and there. Never discount the value in knowledge especially when in a new hobby you have a passion for.

Araf Tafi it's pretty normal for male bettas to make bubble nests. That's completely fine but if there's a big amount of bubble nest, he's ready to breed.

Hey I’ve been thinking about breeding Bettas and I was wondering what the best food is to feed the newborn babies, I’ve heard a lot about vinegar eels and I may do that. I currently have a 20 long tank and a sponge filter for it to use as a grow out tank that I’ll be straying the cycling process on soon I may start up that sponge filter in my established tank just to start it getting some bacteria growth. Please give me some tips as this will be my first time ever breeding Bettas!

Pet Craz his lower part of the body is yellow, and the upper part is light blue. But mostly, his body is yellow. That's the reason he looks like the sun. He's not a full yellow crowntail. I haven't seen a full yellow crowntail, too. :)

so excited for the blogs!

I also just cleaned up my fish area. did a massive water change then I soaked and scrubbed my empty 75 in vinegar and sucked the sand out as well as fully drained it. took me 4 hours!

slickpaw07 Aj Do as much research as possible for the next few months. Get all the equipment and a suitable pair. Condition said pair for at least a month. Spawn according to how your research shows.
