Josalie Wilson as long as they're silk and not plastic, as plastic plants can rip a betta's long fins.

Live plants are always better for a fish tank because they remove toxins from the water however fake plants are ok too.

The sponge filters are from Amazon. We used fake plants also from Amazon.

I like both, it's a personal preference and doesn't really make much difference to the betta.

I get asked this question a lot so I've just done a video on it. It will be uploaded tomorrow. One filter works just fine but I do think it depends on the type of divider you have. If you have a more solid one like ours then I think 2 filters are better as it's like having two separate tanks.

What lovely boys you have! Can I ask why you have two filters for the tank though? I've recently purchased one of the small Jardin sponge filters for a 10 gallon single male betta tank, but do I need a second non-sponge filter as well? I'm hoping someday to give my boy a snail or two, or maybe even divide the tank eventually, and I want everyone to be happy and healthy :)

With the tank being divided the water flow is reduced, so I feel it gives better filtration to have a filter on each side. I will be do a video on this in the next few weeks as I get asked this question a lot.

Yes, I don't see why not. It all depends on the length of the tank. I wouldn't do a section less than 8 inches in length. Preferable would be 10 inches. So if a tank was 40 inches long you could split it 4 ways and each Betta would have a section 10 inches long.

Thanks for watching. I think split 4 ways is too much. The sections would be very narrow. Tall and narrow is not an ideal environment. I personally wouldn't split it any more than 3 ways.

Very good! I think the idea of having a themed tank is good, but I would change it every two months as to not scare the fish (they could think something's wrong if it changes to frequently, I'd think). :D Cool channel!

No, they will get extremely stressed and eventually likely to kill each other. Sometimes when females are put together all may be well for a little while but it is only a matter of time before they turn on each other. You need a minimum of 5 in a very heavily planted tank.

Nice! Do you mean Cory catfish? If so they ideally need to be in groups of at least 3 preferably 5 to be happy. They also need a 10 gallon tank minimum:)
