Do Betta Fish Sleep, When and Where?

http://amzn.to/2B5XFvc - I advise buying a Betta “hammock” which is a large plastic leaf that they use to sleep on. Here is an amazon link Betta Fish Hammock: http://amzn.to/2B5XFvc People are always asking when do betta fish sleep and where? I found this betta sleeping and had to take this quick demonstration video. By the way you should join my facebook group! We have over 12k members! Here are some example topics: Bit of a ridiculous question but I feed my fella the Omega One Betta Buffet Pellets (one at a time), why do some immediately sink to the bottom while others nicely float until he gets them? Any secret here to keep them from plummeting to the bottom so I have to suck them out with turkey baster? He sometimes will chase and grab them but other times he doesn't even notice them until it is too late. TIA. http://bettafishcaretaker.com/when-sleep/ I have the same experience. I just feed one at a time and they'll chase them if they sink smile emoticon if they do fall though, turkey baster works! Yup, good ole turkey baster.....he gets so annoyed when I put it in, as if I DARE intrude on his territory. Mine looks on the surface but if the pieces fall he will look through the gravel for missed pieces. If anything I feel like hunting for the pieces keeps him busy. I don't think mine EVER does that. I sometimes find yucky old pellets in the gravel (they look fluffy and moldy) so I try to suck them out before they get like that....but I sure do wish Buddy would do some "housekeeping chores" of his own too!!! The display is nice but honestly it would be much better without the bubbler. Its not doing anything for them and I've seen this display at a couple places and they always have the air flow turned up so high that the betta is getting thrown around constantly. What do you do when you suddenly have a betta and no place to put them? I won an auction for a beautiful boy on ebay. Figuring I had a few weeks before he shipped because of weather, I started cycling a 5 gallon tank for him. Except he's being shipped today and will be here tomorrow! So I'm not entirely sure where to put him. (It would only be for about 10 days. I used Tetra safestart with ammonia drops which has always worked for me in 12-14 days.) 1) I have a 1.5 gallon bowl I could keep him in. It has a small heater and I have a sponge filter I can drop in it. 2) I could grab a breeders net at Walmart and keep him in my 10 gallon with my dwarf african frogs. (The frogs are terrified of big fish and this betta is literally a giant.) Thoughts? 5 gallon tank... large water changes to mitigate the toxins during cycling and 5-6 weeks of it sustained with no fail... youll be good to go. Betta are hardy, fish-in cycles may not be ideal but Betta fish are perfect for them because the parameter changes won't kill them. disagree... bettas are just as suceptible to getting sick, illness, fin rot, bloat, while fish in cycling if water parameters are not in check. Ammonia can burn gills and nitrites can poison the blood just the same. Fish in cycles EVEN with bettas should be heavy on water changes. The "parameter changes wont kill them" is a innacurate. Just because they can breathe air which is what kills other fish doesn't mean its an ok thing to do. I'd have to change like 90% of the water to put him in the 5 gallon right now. I put enough ammonia in the tank to put it between 1 and 2 ppm to kick start the cycle. Got a new fish tank. Going to be a sorority. 46 Gallon bow front. Thought it'd be cool to set it right next to my bed so i could watch them swim at night. Was not thinking about the filter sound frown emoticon. Any suggestions on the quietest filter possible? Right now i have a marineland and aqua clear HOB and both are too loud. Planning on stocking with low tech plants, bettas, cories, and possibly some palties or rainbow fish. Not quite sure yet but 100% on cories and bettas. Yea i don't want too much. This tank is shorter than a standard 55 but thicker. I put a shower loufa under my filter to stop the noise when the water gets a little low. It's been nice because now it sounds more like a tranquility fountain. I LIVE LOVE LOVE my Fluvals! I have two 70 Fluval filters on my 55 gallon and I NEVER hear them and they clean so well! Alright. I'll be honest. I am casual Betta fish owner. I don't have the money to continue to buy new things suggested to me. I don't even have a test set, which I am not sure is even needed for a one gallon tank (I change this water three times a week, 25%, 50%, 75%). I'm a college student. People are telling me to do water changes every day when in reality I don't have time for that when I have 3 exams in one week, nor do I have the money to purchase a ton of test sets. I'm just really stressed out. What do bettas sleep? Do betta fish sleep at all? Lights off for bettas Do I need a betta light for aquarium.
