Hi there, in my goldfish tank I have a plant called 'mouse ear' - it is said that they are bitter to the taste for them. You can have anubias, java fern, twisted val and other broad leaved, fast growing plants in with them, but try to get big and mature plants but seeing as you might be starting off with one, I don't see you having a problem with your goldfish ravaging plants. Good luck!!!!

For the 55g I recommend a black moor or fancy goldfish, as others such as comets, commons, shubukins (idk if I spelled that right) would get extremely stunted. If you go with black moor, only go with black moor. If you go fancy, only go with fancy. I do not recommend having dif types of goldfish in a tank that size. (You can pull it off with a pond etc).

If my mom didn’t use the whole basement (literally), then I would love to have a bunch of tanks downstairs! She said it’s “her space” and she spends a ton of time down there! Maybe someday I can convince her to let me take over the basement and then she can use my bedroom which is right next to hers. Imagine that! All she needs for the day is food! Cricket machine, sewing, closet space for fabric, “views”

For your snail problem, instead of getting assassin snails, which will literally kill your future profit, you should sell more snails for the same price. Try getting cool import bettas, too, but that seems a bit too ambitious.

The best way to keep goldfish is with a completely bare tank since they are so messy and i wouldn't recommend keeping goldfish by themselves and i'm glad you are coming into the goldfish family i know you will enjoy them, I sure do

I love bug bites, but its sooooo expensive compared to the stuff I used to feed by goldfish. I guess I work hard so my fish can have a better life, haha. Also, blue orandas are gorgous! If you go to Milwaukee, the Fish Factory has had some beautiful goldfish! It is right down the road from Aquatics Unlimited!

Make sure you add plenty of calcium for all those snails they need it in their diet I usually use oyster shell pills for the Crays works great they are sold on eBay

Don't feed the expensive food to the snails :o, my snails ate through $20 worth of food every month until I switched to cheap flakes and pellets, they will eat them. Also, don't make the goldfish lonely!!! Get another one, I had two at separate times die in quarantine since they were "lonely". There is also a chance they might be a pair :)
