First time Soldering! Fish Room Shelving LED lights
Betta 6 years ago 6,450 views
My LED light strips on my betta shelf in my fish room has been busted for a little while - when I built it originally I tried to avoid soldering by using these cheap little "quick clips" to connect the strips to the wires. Surprise surprise, they didn't do the job! So I bought myself a beginners soldering kit and took some time to learn it. I'm glad I did. I'm not a pro by any means but it feels good to know how to do it now. What do you think guys, better? Now I can finally put my plants back into the jars. At the end I mention a newly-discovered hydra infestation, anyone have luck treating hydra before? I've never had them.

Personally I tin (apply a small amount of solder to lightly cover) the tip of the iron first. (I also need a new tip) then heat the wire and tin it. (Touch the the exposed wire with the iron and put your solder against the other side of the wire. [Solder travels toward heat](
The tin the copper pads.
Then put the wire against the solder on the pads and lightly push it in until the solder melts and the wire sinks in.
Remove the iron and hold the wire still until the solder hardens.
Obviously your solder joints are working fine and probably will for a long time without being bumped or moved.
If you want to up your challenge level, try soldering the waterproof version of these strips. That was a nightmare for me. (I am still low on the skill level)
Makes sense now to be more careful with the technique
I got the same idea to go look for youtube videos that teach you how to solder and couldn't believe how simple it is once you know how it works. All those years of doing it wrong and being frustrated and wondering why soldering is so hard.
Unfortunately I didn’t many responses on mouse breeders in Idaho but you can visit fancy mouse breeders .com and there is a collective list of registered breeders and contact info. You can also check the American fancy rat and mouse association but they are mostly California based. I unfortunately had to cull all but two females in my Hereford line. I just couldn’t risk reinfecting my other mice.
That blue and marble plakat has to be the most beautiful betta ive ever seen!
