Getting 4 Betta Fish at Petco!

Don't worry, it's just temporary for right now, the one that's permanent is still in the building process ;) Sorry if you couldn't see the fish very well, I was just really excited so I was kind of going fast x3 I separated all of the girls though, so don't worry! They all have their own tanks now and are doing great! :D And I went from plastic to LIVE plants, I love it, it's totally perfect! Sadly Celeste died and then I got another one as an exchange, BUT THEN that one died too D: So now I think I'm going to be taking a break from betta fish for a while and just enjoy the ones I still have :) I learned from my mistakes, I know that betta fish have to be in a 10+ gallon and there has to be more than 3 of them (which is a sorority tank) FEMALES ONLY.
Also, betta fish together is called a sorority tank. Bettas can be together if they are is a 10+ gallon tank. In the beginning of the sorority tank, they will chase each other to find dominance. If they wanted to kill each other they would, if you have a sorority tank and notice any signs of bleeding, fast breathing, or fin rot, separate the bettas immediately.
Bettas can live together if they have a big enough tank, so everyone who is saying bettas can't live together do your research. You do YOUR research. Clearly you don't know anything about bettas.

I bought my Betta fish at a pet store which specializes with Betta fish they fish were very healthy looking and had their own 1 gallon jars the place is called Betta World. As for stores like Petsmart or Petco they need to have stricter regulations placed upon them for the care of their Betta fish.

Joseph Stalinpoints at dead fishyou guys are dumb, you dont know anything about fish.even though they are females they will try to kill the babies because thy are much smaller and more fragile. it looks like her top fins were shredded from a fight. you should put the baby in a separate tank and hope she recovers.
I need help naming him XD I call him meltalic for now.
no matter the gender they need to be separated except if you're an
experienced breeder. And you can keep fish in tap water as long as you have water conditioner for them, if not they'll die.
sills
lol you're fine XD
Same
Just over suggested number, as long as you have a good filter you should be good to go!
*Would suggest getting a larger tank though. I know it may not be possible for everyone, so, just a suggestion!
It's warm where I live and I do weekly water changes, my fish is fine.
And they're all in their own tanks now, if you had read the desc.
With no divideR?
So where did you get your research from BC you did the exact opposite to basic care.
They're not going to close done any time soon, I've told a lot of people that not everyone that shops at these places sees those videos. They have stores everywhere and are constantly selling more and more animals. They're going to keep on buying more, so if we don't want them to die, we better bring them in and give them loving lives in a nice, caring home :)
Peta-is-over-the-topI mean I love animals of course they're one of my favorite things but Peta has really just gone too far, if you research more about them and see them on the news you'll understand, I think it's horrible, but if we don't want them to die, we better buy them fast! That tank is ways to small. Do you even have a filter? Or a heater? Or a light?
One betta fish should atleast have 2.5 gallons of water. For minimum. But you should really aim for 5-10 gallons.
Sure, I just recently made a video of me cleaning out the betta fish tanks so you can check that out for an idea on how they look:)
I would quarantine the female fish in a separate tank if I were you in case it was to get any worse
On another note, if your Betta dies, you should first identify the cause of its death. Bad water quality, parasites, and fungal infections are some possible causes. Please do not immediately assume that it was already sick. Do your research before taking action.
?
Best wishes to you and the fish- random person on the internet
Ikr!!!
Oh XD
To answer your question, though, try going to your local fish shop or pet store to see if they carry any bettas. If you can't find any near you, try going on aquabid.com, or eBay. Of course, prices will vary depending on the rarity of the fish you're purchasing. Females are generally cheaper than males, although less attractive due to their smaller fins. The tail type of the Betta is another huge factor. Veiltails are the most common tail type, and subsequently, the cheapest. Do your own research on them, if you're looking for a specific type, or if you're concerned about the cost. I recommend you buy the fish you like, though. After all, it's going to be your companion until it's death. Cherish their little lives.
