I used to have a couple of Rhodesian Ridgebacks that were named bonnie and clyde. We got rid of clyde a long time ago but we had bonnie for 16 years before she passed last year. Its definitely cool to see their fish counterparts in ur videos tho.

Up here in northern Minnesota, our lakes will get to about 30 degrees or so. Bass don't hardly feed, and it's super rare to catch them. The main fish we go for up here for ice fishing is Walleye, and some northern pike we go for too.

That's actually a pretty good question. I know they are largemouth black bass, but not sure if they're "the Northern strain" or "the Florida strain" or possibly even "a hybrid strain" from BOTH. The two can inter-breed. They live in South Alabama, so any of the 3 are possible. I doubt they even know for sure, come to think of it. The only way of identifying each sub-species, that I can think of..........is the number of scales along the entire length of the fish's lateral line. But I can't remember the actual number of scales along the lateral line for each sub-species. ( I learned the above from a short documentary about largemouth black bass. ) In the wild, the Florida strain grows the fastest AND biggest.......but they don't live as long as the Northern strain. That much I DO know. Merry Christmas.

Feed them a mouse or a lizard. I had a smaller large mouth bass in my front yard pond in Southern California and I threw in a lizard and it’s tail was hanging out of its mouth for a couple of days. It was pretty cool.

Bass will eat ANY creature, if they can swallow it, and are hungry enough. Bass DO eat small/baby birds of all kinds, snakes, even baby alligators. There's an old documentary about Florida bass in the wild.........and it does show an average sized bass attack & eat a baby gator. Can't remember the name of the film.

I would only put 2 of each, and make sure they are very small to begin with. Better to start out small, and let em grow, so they are conditioned to the size of their surroundings. But don't expect to grow "monster bass" in any aquarium. It takes at least a decent sized pond to grow really big bass. The bigger the tank, the bigger they will grow.

Simply scroll down their video list & find the ones where they first got the tank, and back track a couple episodes too, because if I remember correctly, they might've mentioned "where" they bought it in an episode before it arrived. I could be wrong about that, because I can't remember for sure. But all the information you seek will be in those videos of setting up this 300 gallon tank, and everything else, from lighting to pump/filter systems, to the gravel, plants, etc. I've seen them all, so I believe you'll enjoy them.
