since the container is small, nitrides and other unwanted things can build up quickly and potentially harm your fish. I suggest putting a baby marimo moss ball in there to suck up the nitrides.

@rockandrollgirl09 don't fret about it just take a small container from your household, rinse it out well, and make sure it has a cover that fits properly. However do NOT wash the container with soap as it is toxic to your fish!!

@Kiley5000 There's many reasons why he could be doing that. He could be sick to begin with, shocked because of a temperature difference, too cold (I'm assuming your gallon tank isn't heated?), if you didn't add dechlorinator, if he wasn't acclimated properly when you brought him home, or he could simply be getting used to things. I don't think water changes could cause that kind of stress.

@MYBUDZ2 You can do the same thing for most any fish. Guppys included. Bag them securely, with plenty of air (like they do at the pet store when you buy them) and put them in a cooler. The only issue with fish that aren't bettas is aeration.As long as it's a few hours or less, the movement of the water when driving is enough. I also like to not overcrowd a bag too much, so you may need a few different bags depending on the number of fish. Good luck on your move!
