Ok I just realised that it doesn't light up. I dunno why but the design made me think it lights up. So yaaay there is now no more risk of me setting it way too hot! Now my fish tank can be bootiful and not be a fish deathtrap! Good thing I didn't get the fish yet

I find having the red dial in the center is 80F, at least in my experience with two of these heaters/tanks. I also have a thermometer that I use to ensure that it works correctly. You pretty much have to rely on a thermometer to tell you what it's heating the water to, and then adjust the knob accordingly to get it to the ideal temperature. But, long story short, I find having the arrow in the center is 80F. Hope this helps :)

my top fin condiotiner says 14 drops per gallon i have a 10 gallon tank, should i put 10×14=140 drops of it? or is too much?

I actually just bought the 29 gallon version, but they're essentially the same. I dislike how the LED power cord goes under and out, so I drilled a hole for it to run straight through the lid. Yours definitely looks better than mine!

it's called "maturing" your tank... it depends on the filter you use... 7 to 14 days filtering will do the job, just with one little fish. One fish in clear water will make some ammonia (in little amounts) which will active the biological filter in that tie. Take a biological filter that can handle the stock of fish you want to keep... Change enough water the first 2 weeks to keep ammonia level low. After that period, add more fish. If you want to play safe : quarantaine your fish first in a seperate (matured) tank for observation on health and possible parasites or infections.

It depends whether you choose to do a fish-in cycle or fishless cycle. As I choose fish-in, I can add my fish in the tank after 24 hours of having it running. You just have to be careful of ammonia spikes if you choose fish-in. :)

I'm super excited because I'm going to get a 20gal. Currently, I have a 20 long tank that my hamster is, but I'm going to get a detolf cabinet to put him and my other hamster in and clean the 20g out to use as a community fish tank. I think I want to get some guppies, but I'm still thinking about it, as I will have to put one of my Bettas into the tank.

i got some neon tetras for my betta fish tank and my betta is fine with them not agresive at all toweresd them but the last cuple days hes just bine hideing its realy weird even for him he didnt eat last night but he ate the day befor i dont know whats rong with him he came out a cuple of times and i couldnt see anything diferent i am worred about him i had the neons with him for 2 weeks now

+REPTILES101 Thanks! Not usually haha. I film the entire video and edit the clips together before doing my voiceover, so I try to fit in whatever I have to say into the assigned clips- and sometimes I have to talk quite fast to get it all in! I don't normally talk this fast though :)

BetterBetta I have the 5.5 Gallon tank. Everything is pretty much the same but the filter. How far up should I fill the water? I see that you filled your water and submerging most of your filter in the water. Is the water going to leak into the motor of the filter and damage it? Or should water level be below the two clips?

+Lovebetta Thanks! I like to soak my ornaments in really hot water for a short time, and it helps loosed up the algae. I haven't been able to get it completely off some ornaments, it works great for plants. :)

So I apologize for asking something that doesn't really have anything to do with the video, but I'm quite worried for my Betta. So I've had him for about a week now and his eating patterns have been really weird. He doesn't completely eat his pellets (I would say "nibbles" on them) and if he does manage to eat it completely, he ends up regurgitating it a little later. He also frequently goes to the top to 'get air', but other than that he SEEMS normal. He moves around a lot/is active, his fins are beautiful, scales aren't spiky, doesn't seem to breathe hard, and sleeps a lot too. Any help would be appreciated (:

+Your Missing Sock Not a bother at all! If he's relatively new and wasn't eating before, it could just be some stress from moving. If he's not eating and was eating done before, it could be something else. He seems otherwise healthy. If his rubbing ornaments is quite frantic, it could be because something is irritating him- but if he just brushes against them a lot, that's fine. I hope your betta starts to eat soon!

+Alexis_L_32_ P I personally have in my 5 gallon (and under) betta tanks, but I haven't done that in my 20. I did purchase a bacteria supplement, though, so if you are worried, you can get one too to replace the bacteria that may have been removed from changing the ornaments. :)
