CLICK FOR MORE INFO! You want to make sure that you have at least a 2.5GAL tank. I recommend a 5GAL tank for beginners. It is a lot easier to maintain, nice looking, easy to decorate, and a great beginning tank overall. Bettas in the wild have about a 3x3 feet of space. Please do not keep them in bowls, it is way too small and the temperature is hard to regulate. Necessities include: Heater (appropriately sized) Filter (Cheap sponge filter or internal filter) Thermometer Decor/Hiding place Decorations are up to you, make sure the decor is NOT sharp or ROUGH in ANY way, a betta's fin is very fragile and can easily rip. Bettas are awesome beginner fish because they are so easy to care for! I am currently working on a "How to care for a betta" video at the time of this upload. I will link it when complete! Also, I leave 5 cm/ 2inch away from the edge of my tank and he can't jump that high

+AquaLife&More It's best to have one or he may decide to jump again. One of my females repeatedly bashed against the lid. I was doing a water change and she almost made it over the rim of the tank when I had the lid open... It is up to you though.
