This video explains to you the calm and safe way to acclimate your Betta fish into its new tank! ------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT NOTES: * If you have strong lights above the aquarium, turn those off. It will make the situation less stressful for the fish. * First you need to equalize the different temperatures of the water in the bag, and the water in the tank. Gently put the fish bag or cup in the water, and let it lie there for 15 minutes. * Now you need to mix the different water-types. After 15 minutes, you carefully pour in some of the tank-water into the bag or cup. Leave it for another 15 minutes. * Repeat previous procedure 2-3 times. * Now you simply open the bag or the cup, tip it to the side so the opening meets the water, and then lift it right up. The fish will automatically follow the water-flow, and swim into its new home! GOOD LUCK!

Everything you did was perfect! However, you should NEVER let any of the water from the bag get into your tank! There could be multiple diseases from the pet store's water that you are allowing to get into your tank.

+AlexandrasPets Yeah, the store where you bought your betta looked extra, extra clean (usually I just see bettas in little cups of water :P) so I'm sure there wasn't any diseases in the water lol But it's always better to be safe than sorry ^.^ And the betta you picked out is supper cute!! xD I'd like to get a Betta someday, maybe a rose tail betta, those ones are especially beautiful, in my opinion. Although they are all so gorgeous <3 Before I knew much about betta fish they never really interested me, but now that I am more knowledgeable about them, I've come to realize that they are really interesting fish with unique personalities and stricking beauty <3 Thank you for sharing your betta fish with all of us :)

Hi there and thank you do much! Yeah i get what you mean, and you are right in one way. But in another way, wich i see, is that its hood to pour some of the bagwater into the tank because the tank gets some bacterias that the fish is already used to and lower the risk of chocking in the new water. And the store i buy my fish from has only healthy bettas, wich are all separated in the store, so the water are not diseased from there. Obviously other petstores are not that good and do have diseases in their tanks and thats when your tip comes in! :) so thank you! :D

Bettas dont need filters but if you live in a cold region you need one that is a good size tank i dont like those 2.5 gallon tanks because there hard to clean.I like the large or medium sized critter keepers because there easy to main taine

Dont you mean heaters? :P i like the 2.5 gallon tanks. Mine has never been hard to clean or keep clean! Bit i would not recommend smaller tanks than that :)

Venus toran- hahah no that is a boy XD if you pay attention you can clearly see that he has long fins. Much longer than females gets. And you can also see that he is flaring. Females never flare. although, he was very young in this video, and his fins are not that long yet. Follow my videos to see more of Grimm!

Venus toran- thanks for the tip! I moved him over to another tank with a new kind of gravel and suddenly the water was clear ;) its still beautifully clear in his current tank so the problem i had is solved! :)
