You're tank size is okay, just add a heater, small filter and replace the plastic plants with silk or live plants (bettas don't like plastic). Also try to upgrade, you don't have to however you're fish would love it! I'm so happy you're fish isn't in a bowl.

Hey guys I want to start up a betta tank and I was going to do a 20 gal long tank with 3 dividers ( and the filter and heater etc) would that be a good start?

+Jake Sabish yeah totally!! i recommend that you dont get store bought dividers you can create your own. watch some videoson diy tank dividers, its cheaper. bettas are a good beginner fish.

You didn't aquamate properly, you place the bag in the tank to adjust water temp, then you slowly add aquarium water to the bag and then scoop the fish out letting no water from the bag into your aquarium

By the at the tank that your fish was Ina's only on gallon.i own it,it's tiny and is only one gallon.Btw that is a large knitter keeper which is 5 gallons.I own it and am sure it is 5 gallons

Bettas should have no smaller than a 5 gallon tank WITH a running filter and heater.. It's cruel to shove them in a small cold bowl of water. They are warm water fish and need a good heater and water as warm as 75 degrees. Filters are very good for them so they keep the ammonia rate very low, insuring that your Betta lives a long life, rather than it living a short miserable life in a small cold bowl where they swim in their own poop and ammonia...

+Xena Magnolia okay thanks for your comment! i do agree that it is better for a betta fish to live in a 5 gallon. but a 2.,5 would work. + this tank is a 3 gallon tanks! :) about the temperature i do agree they need a heater! at the moment o just have a heater in my 10 gallon tank, i dont have money to buy one right now! im soving up for two more! and i have thermometers and my water temperature has never been less than 76 in any of my tanks! the type of fish that i have... betta, guppies, cory cat fish, mollies and platys need temperatures from 72 to 82. so the water never gets too cold! but either way i would like to buy more heaters! about the filter its not the filter that keeps the ammonia levels low, its the bacteria that lives inside the sponge, so a sponge filter works too. also i always test my ammonia and ph levels and theyve always been fine. and sorry but my betta´s not living in a miserable life! the tank is not small at all. and thanks, he sure is!

Perfect video!& you should add a hide because they can become stressed! Also, only use plants with soft edges because you do not want there fins to rip.

Ok! But you have a great fish! Also, the reason they get fin rot is bacteria in the tank! So make sure to clean it once every 2 weeks!
