My Betta just got dropsy, I’m hoping this will help cure him. I’ve had him for almost a year now. I’ve got him soaking in a epsom salt bath right now and will get him medication tomorrow. Thanks for the advice! ❤️

Would sea salt work as well I'm in the saltwater Hobby and some of my freshwater fish have gotten dropsy I have a high-quality salt that I use on my reef tanks with this work

I only treat sick fish in a hospital tank but thats not always an option.You can have more than one sick fish and not have room to treat them all in a single quarantine tank.Some folks say medication is not good for the beneficial bacteria regardless what it says on the label. I always cycle my tanks before I add fish and don't want to risk hurting the beneficial bacteria and starting over.I will take what I've learned from this video and use it in the future should I ever get a fish with this disease.Thank you!

THANK YOU SO MUCH. If I put the Epson salt IN the tank... do I leave it? And if it's a big equarium, how many teaspoons should I put in? Also if a fish is in a bucket, should I sprinkle a bit of the salt over him? Like on his scales? Would be great if I could hear back from u soon. Its a life or death situation bit u give me hope its curable.

I used jungle fungus clear, it has nitrofurazone and it stated that it will treat dropsy. And it did, it cured my betta in a week. My betta was happy, jumping and active again. But then the dropsy came back 2 weeks later after I put my carbon filter back. Now the dropsy is worst than before. he will not eat the medicated food loke before, always syats in the bottom of the tank. I'm going to try the the Epson salt method. I hope he'll fight it off and make it through. thanks for the great video, definitely deserves more views!

I forgot that I also used kannaplex and metro as prescribed.....I know that is a lot of different medicines at once.... but it did work....

Thanks so much for this video. I have lost several fancy goldfish to what looked like dropsy but my water quality was very good. It always came on after adding a new fish that was even quarantined. I just had this happen again to a beautiful 6 inch ryukin that looks like baby shamu . I think I caught it much earlier but it even progressed to where he turned pink and it looked like hemorraghic septicemia. I used the above treatment with prazi pro in the water also. I also added antibiotic flakes to her replashy food. The pink has gone away and she looks like she is on the way to a full recovery. So Joanna I would treat for internal parasites and a bacterial infection because the symptoms look very similar..... THANKS FISH MACHINE

They're horrible, wish no fish ever got dropsy, but this is the best way I can think of to tackle it and I wanted to share my thoughts with others
