I believe you just push the opposite way as putting it on, but if I remember correct, they're on pretty tight

Aqua culture is Walmart's brand, so Petco/Smart should not have it. Try amazon if you do not want to go to Walmart.

nope, I have not had this problem. My 10 gallon Tetra tank has the same kind of lighting and the led's were constantly getting water splattered on them from my sponge filter and they still work like new :)
