I would aim for at least 7 females in that size of a tank to even out any aggression that will occur sometimes. I have a 20 gallon sorority with 6 females, its my favorite tank! Mine all get along great, but I have had them together since they were fry. Not sure if that had anything to do with their temperaments with each other or not. They're a lot of fun to watch!

Yeah with schooling fish you want to have at least 6, however for bigger tanks the minimum does go up since the bigger the space the smaller the fish feel, thus they feel safer in larger groups. I would go with at least 10.

Hey man sweet scape! Betta fish are beautiful too! I might rethink the wave maker though. Betta don’t like water that have a ton of flow to it. Their natural habitat has a very low flow.

If you have room, do a heavily planted 20 gallon with 15/20 ember tetras and cherry shrimp, IMO it’d be a great tank.

looks good but i think their should be more plants near the surface ! bettas like to live in jungles ... I keep mine ( 45 gallon long / 1 male plakat + 5 females) in a tank which looks like it has more plants then water in it. So the fish don´t see each other a lot . . . And it could be useful for possible fry to survive ! I started with 1 male and 2 females and a few month later i saw a bunch of tiny babies... I left them in the tank and 6 survived. 3 beautiful young males and 3 females.

Why don’t you have a go at aquascaping? A real aquascape with wood, rocks or both that are placed in specific spots with plants that are not randomly placed. I think it would just make it stand out from all your other tanks, look nice, clean and I’m sure your viewers will enjoy that too! Great video anyways :)

I love my Golden Dojo Loaches, they aren’t hot water fish though, Betta’s are, they’re pretty much incompatible, but I’m sure you can look up a video on people keeping them together. Personally I wouldn’t, but who knows, maybe you might have some luck on it

Dwarf cichlids are neat as well, so colorful and they have awesome and unique personalities. The only down side is they eat plants but it could be cool for you to experiment with fake COLORFUL plants.

If you really want a tank mate for your betta, try upgrading to AT LEAST a 5.5 gallon tank then you can do a small snail. If you upgrade to a 10 gallon you could do shrimp with your betta.

Rosie McLeod No. a 3.5 Gallontank is already pushing the minimum size for a betta. By adding a tank mate, it will increase the Bioload and may risk your betta getting sick. Also, bettas prefer to be alone, by adding a tank mate it will cause unnecessary stress on it.
