Actually Derb died some time ago.. but he would've died much quicker had I added another male betta to his tank :P

Nope I never do. I read on a website to give them peas when they get that bloated gut thing.. I attempted it with Hugo, but fortunately he never got to them. (They sank right to the bottom )

I don't really know a whole lot about live fish tank plants, although it'd probably be much better for my bettas, so I will look into it. Derby passed away a couple weeks ago unfortunately, but before he died, he (and Hugo) got treats all the time. Blood worms, shelled peas, etc, so he definitely wasn't hurting for something to eat :)

Everything is nice, but why plants are plastic... Fish in the tank like to eat some plants too. Plastic Plants - don't want even think of such bad ideas. Sorry.

Nice video, and Betta! check out my planted 5 gallon i also got a 6 gallon marineland eclipse that i will have set up a little after christmas aswell as a hex 5 and maybe either another regular 5 gallon or hopefully a 10 gallon

@Kubinski121 I have one right next to my bed, another one across the room, and a 5 gallon tank on my dresser, and none of them keep me awake, but I also sleep with a fan on so any sound they make is drowned out... but without my fan or any other noise on it makes mostly just a water trickling sound ( maybe a soft humming as well, but not too bad) but it's really not loud at all ..infact I find the water sound quite relaxing :)

@eszereme3 Also, about his reflection, I try to keep it on only during the day and for not very long but he still gets peeved. I have another betta in a 5 gallon hex tank and he couldnt care less about the light, he *never* flares. Derby flares all the time. I think he's just naturally cranky. Ah well, I still love my boys :)

@eszereme3 Yep I'd recommend it. I still *really* like that tank. The only thing I don't like (besides the light issue) is you have to lift the entire lid to feed, there isnt a little door that opens or anything, but I still enjoy it alot. I ordered another tank just to get the light but then I emailed marineland and told them about my broken light, and they sent me a new one free of charge. They have great customer service:) .. I definitely recommend this tank.

I already have one Betta in a Marineland 5 gallon Eclipse, and I am seriously considering buying this tank and getting another Betta...but I dunno now that I have heard you are having light issues and such. Would you recommend that tank, honestly? Or do you wish you had gone bigger/smaller, etc.? P.S. He flares when the light is one because he can see his reflection. If you keep the room light or a lamp outside the tank so that the outside is lit well, he won't be able to see his reflection.
