my paradise gourami jumped out of the tank 2 times......and i don't have a lid,..so i lowered the water level .... he still tries to jump but it don't work.

Today mine jumped out while I was doing a water change she was in the cup and I went to get aquarium salt and she was on my glass table I thought she was dead but I picked her up she jumped and I placed her in the cup and she survived I'm in tears

this happened to my sister a few minutes ago he jumped out then put him back in b/c we didn't know and so he jumped to get air we are doing research now i'm so tired tho :(

my red betta jumped out, found him on the floor when I woke up so no idea how long he was out. when I picked him up, he moved a little so I put him back in the tank; he swam a bit then rested on the leaves and that's how he's been now for over 36-hrs since I found him, he eats a bit but doesn't swim for a long period... should I send him to fish-heaven? I feel like he's suffering??? any suggestions?

No prob, yes it might be good to take some water out to save your other betta from leaping. Good luck with the new betta, dumbo ones are cool! Look forward to seeing it.

Hi, I just did a water change and put the water almost to the top, that could of helped him jump out, I never thought of that, thanks for mentioning it, I have to take some water out of my other betta tank now, I am so scared he will jump too. I am thinking of trying a Dumbo Betta.

Sorry : ( I think the only way to stop this is to make sure the water level is at least a little more than an inch from the top of the tank. Maybe yours was, I don't know of course. I have read in numerous places that bettas can jump out : ( The Fluvals are nice tanks, and it would be a shame not to keep a betta if you wanted one. So maybe think about it?

weird..bettas dont normally jump out of the water, ive had a betta that lived in a bowl that was full of water and ive never seen him jump, but he died because of old age
