First, Sorry for the missing focus!! I still noob at this...hard to get the focus right XP This is my setup for my new 5 Gallon tank, Inside I got my Beautiful Male Halfmoon Beta : Hikki is his Name, He's really look comfortable in his house^^ even I put my hands inside, he doesn't afraid or run from me.. :) I got him Tankmates : 3 Oto Catfish/Otocinclus They seems get along well, well, the oto still afraid of Hikki tho.. but yeah they seems enjoy their own home :) I plan to put 3 more Corydoras inside the Tank, what do you all think? is it too many fishes in 5 Gallon tank? comment me ur suggestion, thank you! Fish : 1 Royal Blue Halfmoon Betta 3 Otocinclus/Oto catfish Plant : 7 Big Marimos/Moss Balls 11 Small Marimos/Moss Balls Ornament: 1 Ceramic Vase Cave 2 Plastic Aquaplant 2 Wide Leaf Silk Plants 5 'Eceng Gondok' Silk PLants White Snow Gravels A few of Arcylic Crystal and Balls Sushi Mat as Aquarium Background (I put it outside back of the tank, so it won't rot!) Tank : Nisso NS Medium 18 Litre Filter : Resun CY-20 Lamp : LED 2 watt Lamp and 12 Watt Lamp UPDATE 2014 The Green Balls/Marimo all still alive and healthy.. but my Pretty Hikki is died because of the water condition :( All the Ottos are healthy alive :)

Marimo moss balls are in fact a type of algae themselves. They soak up nitrates that bad algae would need to thrive thus starving the harmful algae. They also provide oxygen for your Betta and can be a fun toy to swim around, mine loves to swim in circles around his. ^.^ Great set up! (mono's wife)

Your welcome it's nice to see people actually giving there betta the correct space I bet your betta is extremely happy in that tank . I am getting a betta fish but I need a lot of things all I have is the tank right now

Brisltenose pleco(ancistrus spp.) is fine for bettas, make sure you don't get a proper pleco but the small one. Neon tetras or Cardinal tetras in a school of 10 or more is fine for bettas if you got space. Other tank mates are guppys (be careful with too much colour and long fin versions) and otocinclus. A minimum of 3-5 ghost shrimp or amano shrimp works too. Make sure it's not crystal shrimp since they'll prolly be food and get plenty of plants for them to hide in.

yes, they're still a baby tho.. when they're getting bigger I plan to move them together with my Koi at my Backyard Pond.. so far the corries really enjoy in the tank :) my Betta didn't because of the filter is too strong so I moved him into divided tank together with my Giant Halfmoon :) will post the video later. Hikki my blue betta is getting more and more healthier ;) her colour is more vibrant blue now.

Don't listen to them. People get to overwhelmed with the inches per gallon thig but you are not exceeding your bioload. Your plants will help (the more the better) and as long as your tank is cycled and you have a good filter they would be fine. I don't see why people can't appreciate the sight of a betta in a nice home when most wind up in tiny cold bowls :P Nice tank btw! :) I like the moss balls!

Corys are schooling fish but are VERRY resilient especially the peppered variety they should live in trios or more but can adapt to living in pairs and along if everything is right and nothing is stressing them, also a beta in a5g is more than enough fish
