An unboxing video of our new Betta fish generously given to us by Bettas and Art. We were asked to do an honest review of the whole buying and shipping process from this company. Bettas and Art answered all our questions very quickly and the Betta arrived with no issues and in very good health. She is a fancy HM koi plakat imported from Thailand and has very unique colors. They also included Almond and Banana leaves in with the Betta. They have a beautiful selection of Bettas on their website and instagram account. At the moment they ship in the USA only but are planning to add other countries soon. Amber has a 2.5 gallon tank with sand substrate, a sponge filter and live plants. There is no heater in the tank at the moment as the weather where we live is too hot to add one. Bettas and Art contact information. Not because of the plants but decaying matter can cause ammonia spikes in the aquarium.

No, we have filters so depending on the tank we do 25-50% once a week.

What is the substrate in your tank is it sand or small pebbles

It's sand we get from Petsmart. It's the National Geographic brand. It's excellent sand very clean.

I have a 10 gallon planted divided tank and everything was going great for about a month, and when I came downstairs this morning I saw that somehow my black crowntail ended up on the same side as my blue and red betta...I don't know how long they had been fighting, but when I got to the tank they were in their respective corners and not interested in fighting each other anymore...I put my crowntail in a gallon bowl and let the other one stay in the 10 gallon...my crowntail is in bad shape..his tail is practically shredded and one of his pectoral fins was ripped off too...I know fins can grow back but what about the pectoral fin?..I feel so bad for him and I have no idea how he got through the divider..

I'm so sorry this happened. Is it possible they jumped the divider? Bettas are excellent jumpers. The pectoral fin can grow back but it may not. You will need to do lots of water changes. If it's in a one gallon bowl you'll need to do 100% every other day to keep the water quality good. This will give it a good chance of healing.

The black background is a board I put behind so I don't get glare when I'm filming the tanks. However you can buy black tank background at petsmart. I just bought some today!

Ooh another koi betta, very pretty. Is she staying in the 2.5 gallon or are you going to introduce her into the sorority, or are you going to try breeding her with your male koi?

By the way about adding female bettas to my tank, can i get one now then add three/four later or is this likely to make the betta i add first think she owns all of the tank space?

For now she will stay in the 2.5 gallon. We may try adding her but she is huge in comparison to the others. I have no plans to breed at the moment. Ideally you need to add all the females in the tank at the same time. If you just get one she will think she owns the tank and will likely become very territorial.

Any type really but I'd stay away from really bright colors. Fish generally prefer a darker or more natural color.

Yes, they can live with other tank mates too as long as their not too aggressive but they will also live happily on her own. We may add her to the sorority but we need to quarantine her for a while first.
