Once you have purchased your Betta fish tank you might be anxious to put your new pet into place soon, but it is important to ensure that the tank is set up properly in order to create the ideal environment for your new fish. Step 1: Clean Your Tank Before setting up your Betta fish tank it is important to clean the tank with clean water before use. This ensures that there are fewer contaminants in the tank when you begin to fill it. Step 2: Clean Your Gravel Gravel can easily be cleaned. While allowing water to pass through the gravel use your hand to move the gravel around to ensure that the gravel on the bottom also gets cleaned thoroughly. Once it has been cleaned appropriately, the gravel can be set in the bottom of the tank. Step 3: Add Decor and Plant Life It is important to add plants and decor not only for decoration but to provide spaces for your fish to feel like they are in their natural element. When placing your decor, remember that your Betta fish must have access to the surface of the water so that they can breathe. Step 4: Fill Your Betta Tank The best way to fill your Betta fish tank is with tap water.Allowing the water to set for some time will help for a couple of reasons like for it to set on room temperature. Using an anti chlorine ensures that your water does not contain any elements that could be harm your Betta fish. Step 5: Add Your Betta Fish it’s time now to add your Betta fish to their new home. It is important to remember that simply throwing your new fish into their fish tank will most often result in shock, so give it some time and place the aquarium where the temperature is not too cold or too hot. Step 6: Add in Food What we have here is betta fish small granules and also tubifex air dried worms.Do not overfeed you fish as it may cloud the aquarium, stick on your gravel and get wasted.Practice feeding twice a day. Always ensure that your aquarium is cleaned at least once week.always use a suitable fish net when removing your Betta fish as bare hands might contain chemicals which may harm your Bettas.

Just i would suggest a bigger tank. People say 2.5 ... but really that is honestly still a little too small. 3 gallon might be better. Filter and heater is a good idea too. Bettas like warm water. Live plants, clean the water also. Plastic can cut their fins. And disease will start.
Good luck!

So yeah everything was wrong
in the years i've owned them i never had a problem
however i do sometimes soak them
but, either way both have faults.
pellets are the better option
more protien put into it
yes they can eat flakes but, not as healthy
and freeze dried anything isnt quite recommened
both freeze dried and flakes can cause dropsy if he intakes too much air and becomes constipated
