Benjamin Lor you need a conditioner or else your fish's gills will slowly deteriorate and he will suffocate to death

Where was the hook for the filter located? I looked everywhere in mine and could not find it at all. So I have a beautiful tank with no filter at all.

Hey guys, just wanted to tell you that Perseus has passed away very suddenly I think he was just old when I got him. He had a good life and I am sad to see him go. I will get another Betta soon and will make a new video about it!

I have a Crowntail Betta and 2 Oto catfish in a 5 gal Fluval Chi and they are all doing great ! I do think a Betta does need 5 gal at least and Betta experts do agree but like we all know they can live in small tanks but I think their life may be cut short living in very small tanks. I would consider a 5 gallon Fluval Spec or the 5 gallon Fluval Chi plus they are reasonably priced !

+Sydney Clanton I would say a fluval spec 5 gal is great. I've had them in that and it's very compact and the fish lasts a long time.

+Paul Scolpini I would have liked to have gotten him a bigger tank, but I do not have a lot of money. I cleaned his tank very well when I was supposed to. A 3.5 Gallon is a lot better than most people put them in. I had him for almost a year and it was very sad for me. I do not know why he died but I do not think it was because his tank was too small. It was better than the half gallon tanks a lot of people keep them in. There are a million reasons why he could have died. Sometimes things just die. I am not trying to start an argument, just saying what I think. Whenever I have money, I can get a bigger tank. Do you have any recommendations of bigger tanks for Betta's?

+harrystyles 00 no problem. Ooh and btw: idk how big your tank is, but shrimps dont need a lot of space. You can keep like 100 shrimps in a 8 gallon tank. So dont think your tank is to small (unless it is like 1 or 2 gallon)

a shrimp? most of the shrimps should be in a tank with at least 15 of them. A betta and shrimp can get along as long as the betta had really big fins, because than the betta isn't fast enough. And if the shrimps have enough hidding places like moss.

I think it depends on the shrimp but the beta might think it's food and eat it or the shrimp will be afraid to come out when the fish is out. I'm not an expert though! You might want to research it or ask someone at a pet store. Let me know if you find anything out!

I have the same tank and my fish loves it but the filter was way to strong for him so I had to make a little thing to block the water so it would slow down. Btw I love your tank set up and fish.

+Sydney Clanton I took a water bottle and I cut off the top and back so I just had the middle then I cut the middle in half and removed the thing that was already covering it and put the water bottle middle in replacement. You can find a tutorial on it on YouTube just look up how to slow down a filter. And if you want to see my fish check out hammyhorselover I will be uploading a video on him soon:)
