I've had my betta fish for a while now but he got sick a while back... He seemed to have healed up but now it's back... His fins are all red and decaying? It looks SUPER painful and he rarely moves, he just lays at the bottom or on a plant and when he does swim, he swims belly up, or side ways in a sort of wiggling motion... He just sort of bent in half almost... I really have NO idea what to do but someone PLEASE help??

i went to a petstore and i saw a beta fish and it had a HUGE fungal infection and i told the lady and she said it was fine bc it was "still alive". i'm going to go back and buy him soon if i can prepare a tank and figure out how to cure him.

Hello, I need some help guys on a Betta that I bought yesterday but is sick. It can swim but it doesn't and when it does it up swimming it's swims slanted. I think it has a little cut at the bottom since it looks a little open and red marks are all on it. It had a dirty container when I bought it but I have it in a tank with more bettas. I removed it since I didn't want the other bettas to bother it. But it seems to do the same.

+Janette Lopez I ended up returning the Betta. It was a female, and you can keep females together but no less then a 10 gallon tank and a lot of plants.

My fish has some lines from up (that kind of fur) bent. And that ,, lines " from down too... And has 3 black scratches (on his back).. Is there any treatment? Or I need to get him to the vet? And also, he starts being very fast and jumps often and I'm afraid to touch him.

+beyblademaster8001 i got the same stuff i was out of town and his eye doesnt seem to be getting better. im only on day1 though so i should give it some time hopefully its nothing more serious. i also bought bettafix which should help once he gets better

Hi! I'm no expert but the girl at PetSmart told me to buy the API Fungus Cure which was like 12 bucks.. A little pricey as it is $8 online. But I figured having it immediately is better than waiting even just two days. Dropped some of it in yesterday and I say the fungus on my betta's eye come off! He is more active now :D Today is the second day of treatment. Good Luck to you!

I thought my betta might have swim bladder disease, but everything I've read said they lie on the bottom. He hangs out on top, and when he does try to swim it seems like he has a hard time going down. The minute he stops actively swimming, he bobs back to the surface. Sometimes he lists to the side as well. If you touch him while he's at the surface he's quick to react. He looks a bit swollen in the belly, and his color is dull. No signs of fungus, inflammation of the gills, or rot. Help?

@ImfamousKiller unfortunately, he passed away, but, he DID NOT have any diseases of such. About an hour before he died, I noticed BUGS IN HIS TANK!!! I have absolutley no idea how they got in there, but i think it's the cause of his pass.They were MOVING, HAD ANTLER'S AND WERE ON THE SIDE OF THE TANK! After he passed, i washed his tank about twenty times and cleaned the rocks ten times.

my mother-in-law has a fighter (betta) fish and it has this growth like lump thing over one eye, not on the actual eye itself but right above it. ive googled all of the illnesses these fish can get and i cant seem 2 find something that fits the description. also, its not a fungal/bacterial infection because the lump doesnt look fuzzy & is more flesh colored than white. PLEASE HELP!

Ok so my betta hAd fungus now it's like gone but where it was on it's gill is like no scales their and a very tiny spot of blood it's sitting in anti fungus water shoul I put it back in normal water to let it heal?

My betta has this white patch right near his eye and I don't think he can see out of that eye anymore I've added this tablet called jungle fungus clear and turns the water sorta green how long will I need to keep adding this 2 the water? And will it heal the fish if u know wat caused this pls tell me

My betta freaks out when i put him in a diff lil cup to change some of his water and he started freaking out and he keeps on laying on the bottom of the tank and just cuddling with his plant is he sick??? or is he just strange???

my betta is covered in a sort of film. i thought it was a fungus at first but now i think it's columnaris by this description. i've been treating with tetra usa lifeguard. does anyone know if this will help? it says its a non-antibacterial but it also says that it treats everything.

my betta has a white moldy looking coat all over his body. it has benn growing the past few days and i thought it was ich but i think it is the fungus one that you were talking about, or the second illness you mentioned.
