Just a little recommendation, be careful if you're using plastic plants because if they're pointy or sharp they could rip his fins. But you have such a pretty fish and I love the tank :)

Filters take 6 to 8 weeks to cycle. Not 48hours.

The acclimation process isn't just for temperature regulation. It's also for parameters such as PH. Your fish could get shocked if the ph is different between tanks.
Drip acclimation is always the best, orrrr if you float them in the new tank with a cup/bag, every 10 minutes add some new tank water for about 30-60 mins.
Release him from the bag with the net.

The fact that you're upgrading is great! But letting it cycle for two days isn't much and I'm concerned about the ammonia levels! Did you test them before putting your betta in?

I was following the directions that came with the tank which said to cycle the tank for 1-2 days, I assumed that that was enough time and I haven't had any problems with my ammonia levels.

boo pie thankyou for the suggestion! I unfortunately found out the hard way about the water current as it tore his fins a little but he is back in perfect health and has a different filter!
