i use to have a 500 gallon with one chichlid and 8 baby bristle nose and 4 decent sized ones and the chichlid never moved it stayed in a pipe but then we added angelfish swell and more cichlids and it looked gangsta as and if u guys could sub i will sub back

Wash the sand first so you don’t ruin your filter and so it’s not so cloudy when you fill it and you take out any metals and stuff.

You aren't letting your tank cycle and that filter is too small, it's adequate for up to a 30 gallon fish tank.

I always agree with dark-coloured substrates, but seeing as you're a nature/outdoors guy, I would've just saved money by running outside and grabbing natural rocks and wood as aquarium decor. It'll make a good video too. The one main reason why people use white sand is because it's a lot cheaper. Sad fact is, substrates last for an extremely long time anyways, so extra one-time cost is really irrelevant for quality

Hey your supposed to clean the rocks before you add them to the tank because they will release dirt it’s just healthier for the fish I breed African cichlids so I learned over the years from mistakes but what I do I cut the top of the bag open pour it in a 5gallon bucket and turn the water on hot and then let it fill up and put your hand in the bucket and just stir the rocks up and it will let all the nasty stuff rise to the top and come out
